Why Early Access?

“The game has been in development for a while, and there's been a lot of demand to play it. Releasing Early Access allows us to gather feedback swiftly and help make Smackitball into what our players really want. In addition, it lets us focus on features that matter most to players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until April 2017.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current version is meant to tear away the options and complications so that players can focus strictly on the gameplay. We want to hear how it feels so we can rebalance it as needed. Meanwhile, we are perfecting the multiplayer features so we can release that option when the other mechanics of the game are satisfactory to our users.

Long-term we expect to add character customization, racket options, ball options, court options, and the ability to host and join custom game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game allows you to play in two modes, "Rally" and "Arcade". Rally is for the average consumer with a appropriate sized court. Arcade is for arcade users or those who have access to a larger playspace.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes! When the game has more of it's intended features, we expect to sell it at up to $25.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to engage with the community and:

1. Invite them to participate in events and win prizes
2. Hear specific feedback about how the ball and racket feel in-game
3. Feature requests
4. Aesthetic requests and feedback
5. To learn what people want out of the Smackitball experience
