Hvorfor tidlig adgang?

“It's been a while since we've worked on it, though we are restarting development on Exotic Matter and we are delighted to get back into it. Exotic Matter is more than just a game - it is an engine built for open-world sandbox games. And now that the engine is stable enough and we have our first part of the main world ready, we want to get the community involved. We have a lot of ideas where to go with this project, but we need your feedback to create something truly amazing. That’s why we opted for Early Access.”

Hvor lang tid vil dette spil være i tidlig adgang?

“Exotic Matter has been on a Hiatus as we focused on software development and a game that received funding from the German government, though we have restarted development now in 2023. There is a lot of content and features that we want to add to the game. And we strive to be thorough when it comes to bug fixing. Also stabilizing the API for modders is a big task that will require a lot of effort to get it right - so we don’t want to rush things.”

Hvorledes kommer den fulde version til at være anderledes end produktet i tidlig adgang?

“In comparison to the Early Access version we envision the full game to feature a more complete single-player experience with a lot of facilities on the planet to explore. Also the planet will have a great deal more secrets to discover and the crafting/replicating will be better balanced. Furthermore we plan to have enemies running around in the facilities and on the surface as well as to add a set of different particle weapons for the player to defend themselves.

On the engine side we intend for the full release to have a stable modding API and a tight integration into STEAM Workshop, so that creating and sharing content is as easy as possible. Furthermore we plan to add more features that facilitate the creation of new content within the game itself, making it possible for every player to create their own worlds with just a few clicks.”

Hvad er den nuværende tilstand for versionen med tidlig adgang?

“Exotic Matter in Early Access gives you the possibility to be one of the first to play the game and join its active development as part of the community!

The single-player campaign currently features a fully simulated planet to roam around freely. The planet also contains a ship wreck that doubles as tutorial level and an alien facility nearby to explore. Countless of puzzles, items, lasers and block types await you.

On the engine side you have the possibility to check out the modding interface and play around with creating your own worlds, items and block types. Sharing and even more API features will be added through updates.”

Ændrer spillets pris sig under og efter tidlig adgang?

“We realize that giving an Early Access game a chance is more time consuming and the experience might differ from what you are used to get from a full released game. So we offer the Early Access version of Exotic Matter at a discount compared to the later price of the full release version.”

Hvordan har I tænkt jer at involvere fællesskabet i jeres udviklingsproces?

“We have a lot of ideas where to go with this project, but we want and need your feedback to create something truly amazing. Every idea is valued by us and carefully considered for implementation. And even if we opt against implementing some of your ideas, we are looking forward to seeing your own ideas as mods for the game.”
