Miksi Early Access?

As a solo developer, the development process moves at a steady but slower pace. Early Access allows me to share the core gameplay with the community and gather vital feedback while I continue to build the rest of the experience. It helps me ensure the game’s stability and quality before the final release.

The game will be in Early Access for roughly 3 months (12-14 weeks). This gives me the time needed to polish the core mechanics and implement the planned content updates.

The full version is planned to offer a much more comprehensive experience. I plan to add:
A Story Mode consisting of 5 distinct levels.
A highly Customizable Single Player Mode.
Expanded Online Modes to offer more variety beyond the initial 1v1 setup.
Overall improvements to the game's scope and depth based on player feedback.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The current version of the game focuses primarily on the Endless Mode. It is a functional and playable core that represents the fundamental mechanics of the game.

I am not planing to increase the price of the base game as I ship new features. Just a heads-up: if I create additional expansion packs (DLCs) in the future, they might be priced separately.

The community is vital to this project. I will be actively monitoring the Steam Discussion Forums and our official Discord server to hear your thoughts. I plan to use player feedback to balance the game, fix bugs, and potentially shape the direction of future features.

About This Game

Forget the rules of classic Sudoku. A virus that infiltrated your computer has turned the calm puzzle game you know into a ruthless fight for survival.

VORTEX is a deck-builder roguelike where the rules change every round. Buy new cards from the shop between rounds, determine your strategy, and fight against various virus variations that sabotage your board. Your cards are dealt randomly, so you must adapt to the situation with every move. If you fail? Everything is wiped out, and you start all over again in a brand new viral chaos.

Key Features:

  • System-Crashing Viruses: Every round presents a different challenge. Deal with dozens of distinct mechanics.

  • Viral Mutations: As if the viruses weren't dangerous enough alone, they sometimes hit you in mixed combinations. Are you ready to play with disappearing numbers in the dark?

  • Dynamic Deck-Building: Strengthen your deck between rounds. Choose the right cards and create the deadliest combinations from your randomly drawn hand.

  • Ruthless Roguelike Experience: No permanent progression, no second chances. When you die, everything resets. Rely solely on your wits, strategy, and luck to push further in the next run.

  • Bizarre Rules: Sweep for hidden mines, evade the tax collector, or control a tiny character on the board to carry your cards!

Developer’s Note:
Due to the challenges of solo game development and being a newcomer to the industry, I utilized AI tools to assist in certain areas of production. This includes specific textures, minor 3D models, and parts of the programming logic. However, all voice acting and musical scores are original works, created as a gesture of support by my close friends.
