« This is an ambitious project with the path to its full release not set in stone. I invite players to shape that path, with ideas and suggestions, so that the game can become the best it can be. »

« It will be in Early Access for a year at least, maybe two. »

« Current plans for the full version of the game include: several more iterations on the world map to improve pathing, gameplay, interest and immersion; additional features like NPCs, Factions and Quests; improved sounds and music; loads of more enemies and items; puzzles and more. »

« The game plays similar to the original Rogue, but with way less features. Players can complete a game by reaching the end of the path, though it is missing the real ending. From a technical standpoint, the game is quite mature. However, due to the reduced set of gameplay features, it may not hold the player's interest for extended periods of time. »

« I plan to gradually raise the price as substantial content and features make their way into the game. »

Rangedrifter is a traditional, turn-based roguelike game set in a forbidden land. You travel a remote and shifting path, outsmart deadly traps, overcome monsters and wild animals, gather food and gear, find secrets, and try to reach the lost ancient kingdom lying dormant on the horizon.

Features

  • Turn - Think about your next move and take your time doing it.

  • Path - A linear, winding path is leading your way in each run.

  • Run - When hero dies, the game resets and a new path will guide you.

  • Weapons - Axes and slings are more effective than throwing a stone.

  • Interiors - Temples and huts hold items that will aid your journey.

  • Loot - Urns and chests contain much needed potions, medicine and gear.

  • Armor - Shields and trinkets give your defense and vitality a boost.

  • Level - Defeating monsters increases your strength, defense or vitality.

  • Food - Forage for food or you will starve along the way.

  • Danger - Monsters, wild animals and traps will catch you unprepared.

  • Secrets - Some walls are not as strong as they seem.

  • World - A expanding world made by hand.
