Why Early Access?

“SpaceSys aims to develop a comprehensive and ubiquitous VR user interface, pushing user experience to a new paradigm, yet providing a smooth interaction with / transition from existing 2D interfaces. While many features work great, others are not yet implemented or need some work before becoming a cohesive and polished experience.

Given that VR consumer market is not matured yet, we feel like early access is a great way to get feedback and provide enthusiasts and users with insight into what SpaceSys is capable of in current development stage.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“9-12 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“One of our next goals is Windows 10 support.

Polishing current core of SpaceSys, removing bugs, optimizing performance, etc

Hardware wise we definitely want to add Oculus Rift and Windows MR.
Vive controllers are also considered, but we want to gather user feedback first.

Additional environments such as a massive tropical island will be added soon, but we will
also take into consideration comments and wishes, and thus build specific kind of worlds.

Adding a VR Office - custom build environment designed to immerse user into predesigned
working space. This office has a benefit of a complicated working environment such as design
studios or architectural studios or programming studios to be set up and operated using VR.

User experience improvements - user fixed to a single point, content coming to user field of view; easier changing of the environment without leaving the application, multiple save sessions for having more instances of the environment based on user preference.

In the long run - we want to implement a multiuser feature allowing multiple users to share and interact within shared virtual space.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Spacesys is currently in beta development stage.
Here are the main implemented features in short:

- Various graphical environments to choose from and customize
- Complete OS 2D interface implemented in full 3D, including icons, folders, menus and windows
- Any kind of file / object manipulation (moving, copying, etc...) implemented in full 3D
- All sorts of shell operations and interactions with OS objects available in 3D either directly or through proper 3D context menus (opening, launching, etc...)
- 2D application windows available as proper 3D objects, each using its own virtual monitor (Windows 7 SP1 in current development stage).
- Application windows are fully interactive inside 3D environment, including routed mouse and keyboard input (Windows 7 SP1 currently)
- Application windows can be arranged, grouped and organized to best suit user's needs”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As we move forward price will gradually raise, but it depends on the various factors yet to be determined.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We value user feedback highly and we shall take into consideration all constructive suggestions and comments while evaluating and prioritizing feature development and future roadmap.”
