Fate Observer: Selective Mutism is a single-player interactive visual novel centered on branching worldlines, character-driven relationships, and mystery.

You play as Gu Yan, moving through a story where every choice can lead you toward different relationships, different consequences, and different endings. Along the way, you will meet the same key characters under changing circumstances, building trust, creating distance, uncovering secrets, or losing your chance to understand them in time.

The game is built around **15 interconnected worldlines**. Through dialogue choices and key decision points, you will guide the story into different routes and gradually piece together the larger truth hidden behind the same core events. Each worldline approaches that truth from a different angle, changing what you learn, when you learn it, and what it costs you to keep going.

Your decisions do more than change a line of dialogue. They influence the order in which information is revealed, the direction of character relationships, the way major events unfold, and the ending you ultimately reach. Some routes bring you closer to the truth sooner. Others make you recognize the same person only through belated understanding.

At the heart of the game is a simple design belief: choice is the process through which life reveals its color. This world is not meant to be judged through black and white, joy and pain, gain and loss. Fate is a spectrum, and from it you draw the colors you choose - never just one. For that reason, the story is not built around routes that exist only to reward you, nor does it rush to judge who is right or wrong. The encounters, partings, resonances, and entanglements you experience across each worldline all refract into a light that is uniquely your own.

Alongside its branching narrative, the game uses character art, CG scenes, visual presentation, music, and sound design to give each worldline its own emotional weight and atmosphere.
