You Are the Reason is a pixel-art psychological horror RPG about death, redemption, distortion, and love.

Humanity's collective subconscious desire for death has warped the world. You Yuan, a 15-year-old girl, possesses unique abilities: she can sense the aura of death, and her blood can calm suicidal individuals, pulling them back from the brink. Following her adoptive mother, You Yuan arrives at Zhuhe City—a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province—to track down the "Reason," the ultimate manifestation of the will to die.

The year is 2019. The surging energy of the will to die
triggers a massive spike in abnormal suicidal behaviors. Aided by her sensory abilities and a detector invented by her adoptive mother, You Yuan identifies the "Reason" as her male classmate, Wei Yue. She tries everything to get close to him and earn his trust, all to find a chance to erase this seemingly gentle boy. However, in their crumbling everyday life, he becomes her solace. As You Yuan's sanity slowly shatters from witnessing countless corpses and bearing the guilt of being unable to save everyone, Wei Yue is the one who comforts her. Gradually, they plunge into a deep abyss of mutual redemption and extreme obsession...

• Save the Innocent: Follow the storyline to investigate supernatural anomalies and solve puzzles to save as many lives as you can.

• Shape the Narrative: Alter the course of the story through your choices and by uncovering hidden conditions. Unlock multiple distinct endings, or perhaps... do something unspeakable?
