Wozu Early Access?

„Our game used to be a ROBLOX game, but due to the changes and planned updates that involve ID verification, we were forced to move to Unity. This project has been in development for about 5 years at this point, and we're extremely dedicated to making a proper story based off of the things we love. We don't expect the game to be the most stable at its first demo or paid launch, as this is still our first project, and we will definitely need some time to develop a fully polished, finished product. We still want to deliver something for our long time fans, though, and financial support always helps the project grow!“

„Most likely a year or two. This is our first project, and while we do have a plan, Dark Horizon is still definitely an ambitious project. However, we are dedicated to delivering a well developed story and a polished game.“

„Dark Horizon in its final state is planned to feature a fully fleshed out campaign with tasks, cutscenes, and in-game snippets of information such as notes and books. We also plan to have modding support to keep our community engaged, allowing things such as custom maps for enhanced replay value!“

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

„Currently we have:
- A map for testing our foliage models, building, and shaders.
- A character system, where you have the ability to see your own body move around the world.
- Multiple models for irradiated foliage, and some basic gear that can be equipped on your player in the future.
- Models for lootable crates and objects that can be interacted with by your player.
- A main menu, fit with a settings menu to adjust basic graphics settings.“

Wird dieses Spiel während und nach Early Access unterschiedlich viel kosten?

„The game will be cheaper in the early access stage compared to the full game, to compensate for any issues the game may have during it's early stages. It's also a nice bonus for supporting the project early.“

Wie werden Sie versuchen die Community in den Entwicklungsprozess miteinzubeziehen?

„We plan to open the gates for modding when the game is in a playable state, and even now we heavily focus on community suggestions. Polls are also occasionally run on our Discord server, and we intend to keep doing those until the full release.“

WHAT IS DARK HORIZON?

Dark Horizon is a single-player survival shooter game based off of Escape from Tarkov, Casualties: Unknown, Fear & Hunger, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

You are trapped in a Russian city during a conflict that almost entirely destroyed it. After a near-fatal accident that killed the rest of your squad members, you are right in the dead center of the city's residential sector. Cultists and criminals have taken over parts of the city, with other government and military officials trying their best to control the situation and keep everyone inside. Radiation and the lack of electricity have twisted the city from fame to complete darkness.

GAMEPLAY

Dark Horizon takes a lot of its inspiration from Escape from Tarkov, trying its best to retell the story of what happened in its own unique way. Base mechanics like medical treatment and firearms handling have been tuned to be realistic, but not extremely punishing. If you screw up, however, you will face the consequences. Severe infection will lead to forced amputation, starvation will lead to weakness before death, etc. Your character is far from invincible, but still has the knowledge and will to survive.

Similar to games such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R, you progress through the game by accessing specific transition points in maps. These points load you into new areas, with routes that take you to your own bunker. Some routes may also take you to temporary shelters that do not share loot with any other bunkers. Over time, you can expand your bunker to add more components to it, helping you survive easier in the fallen city.

Your life depends on your connections, with greedy traders barely helping you at the start of your abandonment. Once you do some dirty work for them, you'll start to unlock more of their store and meet new connections of theirs.

While this game is similar to other extraction shooters, it's a bit more of a mixing pot of multiple genres.
