WELCOME TO THE DMF: EVALUATION BRANCH

The world doesn’t run on miracles—it runs on middle management. In this 8-day gameplay demo, you are stepping into the role of a Junior Ritual Clerk at the Dark Magic Federation (DMF). While the full department handles thousands of hexes, your evaluation will focus on mastering the desk procedures required to keep the mortal realm (and our bottom line) in check.

DEMO OBJECTIVES

• The 8-Day Cycle: Complete a full work week of evaluation. Each shift introduces new bureaucratic hurdles and increasingly complex client requests.

• Process the Public: Handle a variety of disgruntled citizens. From petty hexes to life-altering rituals, it’s your job to get the paperwork right before the clock runs out.

• Consult the Manual: Use your color-coded DMF handbook to verify ritual components. Cross-reference sigils and check for smudged glyphs to ensure 100% compliance.

• Activate & Resolve: Trigger the magic once the ritual circle is set. In this demo, you’ll experience a focused selection of the 90+ unique outcomes on each receipt featured in the full game.

DEPARTMENT PROTOCOLS & PENALTIES

• Fraud Detection: Identify hand-drawn counterfeits and use your REPORT stamp to protect the DMF’s assets.

• Compliance Violations: Accuracy is mandatory. Miss a counterfeit or botch a ritual, and the DMF will issue a fine. Watch your seal count carefully—it’s the only thing keeping you employed.

• Tactile Bureaucracy: Feel the "thump" of the stamps and the mechanical glide of the receipt printer. The demo features most of the tactile audio and visual experience of the final game.

This game contains themes of dark magic, occult rituals, and corporate satire. Players process ritual requests from the public that may reference death, hexes, and workplace violence (e.g., a client requesting a 'liquidation' of a boss). While the gameplay is stylized with 2D pixel art and 'poof' animations, the 90+ ritual outcomes and compliance letters contain dark humor and text-based descriptions of supernatural consequences. There is no graphic gore, sexual content, or depictions of self-harm.
