Formation Builder Idle is an idle RPG where the location of your heroes matters just as much, if not more, than which heroes you use. Drag your roster onto a tactical grid, see the impact of abilities change based on your formation, and push deeper into an ever-escalating wave system — then close the game and come back to a pile of rewards.

This isn't a game where you just stack your strongest units and walk away. Hero abilities interact based on grid position — buffs ripple outward, gold multipliers stack with DPS amplifiers, and the difference between a good formation and a great one can be orders of magnitude. Finding that perfect layout is where the magic happens.

40+ Heroes, Each With a Role to Play

Every hero brings a unique ability to the grid. Some boost adjacent allies. Some multiply your gold. Some scale with the number of heroes around them. Pair that with individual gear sets, traits, and level scaling, and you've got a roster where every hero has a reason to exist — and a formation where they shine.

Systems That Feed Into Each Other

Formation Builder Idle doesn't have one progression path — it has many, and they're all connected:

• Heroes & Gear — Level 40+ heroes with unique abilities. Equip gear that boosts damage, cuts upgrade costs, speeds up missions, and strengthens your mount riders.
  
• Talents — Prestige to earn talent points, then invest across 52 talents to shape your build: raw DPS, gold scaling, wave skipping, mount power, mission rewards, and more.
  
• Mounts — Collect mounts with Power, Stamina, and Speed. Level them up with Animal Food, build mount teams, and assign hero riders for bonus stats. Then take them into a full mount combat system — fight enemy squads and climb the Tower of Domination.
  
• Pets — Assign pets to heroes for passive bonuses. Or send them farming to earn Pet Treats, then spend treats to level them up — stronger pets, stronger bonuses.
  
• Mines — Assign heroes to mine for resources and unlock permanent DPS bonuses that stick across every prestige. A worker-placement system within an idle game.
  
• Missions — Send heroes on timed expeditions for bonus rewards. The right gear and talents cut the wait and boost the payoff.
  
• Seer — Spend Diamonds on pulls for permanent stat bonuses that compound over time — DPS, gold, talent points, and mount combat power.

Prestige Across 17+ Worlds

When you've pushed as far as you can, prestige. Cash in your gold for talent points, earn World Essence — a unique currency for each world — and start the climb again, stronger than before. With 17+ worlds and over 100 stages, there's always another wall to break through.

Idle Done Right

Close the game. Your formation keeps fighting. Come back to offline progress — gold earned, waves cleared, chests dropped, mine resources gathered. Formation Builder Idle respects your time whether you're actively playing or checking in once a day.

Mount Combat — A Game Within the Game

Beyond the main wave game, there's an entire mount combat system waiting. Level up your mounts with Animal Food, assemble teams with terrain element synergies, assign hero riders for stat bonuses, and pick your team leader for an edge in battle. Fight enemy squads and climb the Tower of Domination — a multi-chapter campaign with escalating difficulty. It's a whole second layer of strategy to master.

Formation Builder Idle is in active Early Access development by a solo developer. New heroes, new systems, balance passes, and quality-of-life updates ship regularly. Your feedback directly shapes what comes next.
