When the weariness and confusion of reality weigh you down, do you long for an escape to find salvation and answers?Mist of Sky and Water: Never Leave Again is a side-scrolling RPG with a story-driven core and pixel art style, featuring all furry characters. It brings you an adventure crossing reality and fantasy.

Set in the 21st-century real world, the story follows Fanka, an ordinary person who lives a trivial daily life—until a mysterious unsigned email invites him: “Come join ‘Mist of Sky and Water’; here you will find all the answers you seek.” With his brother Xicheng, Fanka enters this unknown game, starting an adventure full of secrets and redemption.

Stepping into the game, a parallel dimension unfolds. Here, Fanka awakens a hidden power—his key to survival, solving puzzles, and uncovering the truth. As the player, you control Fanka, traverse side-scrolling levels, use his powers to fight unknown threats, grow stronger, and discover clues to the truth through each challenge.

It’s not just a thrilling adventure, but also an immersive story experience. Using a visual novel-style narrative, every dialogue, scene, and choice drives the plot and hides foreshadowing. The bond between Fanka and Xicheng, the truth behind the email, and the game’s real purpose—all mysteries await you to uncover.

The classic pixel art blends the warmth of reality with the fantasy of the dimension, bringing vivid scenes and characters. Paired with plot-fitting background music, it delivers strong emotional resonance.

Highlights include a unique combat system with unlockable/upgradable abilities, hidden puzzles tied to the story (unlocking buffs and hidden plots), and a touching core: “Never Leave Again” means finding the courage to face reality, not escape it.

About the Creator

This is Fangka’s first indie game, and also Fangka’s first original character (OC) game.

Fangka worked on it completely alone:

coding, drawing, animation, and writing all the text.

Simply put — I made the entire game by myself.

Since I actually don’t know how to code, if any bugs appear, I might not be able to fix them immediately, or even know how to fix them at all.
