Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer and the game is still a work in progress [6+ months in]. There will be bugs to fix, balance improvements, and a lot of content still being built. I decided to launch in Early Access because I genuinely want players involved in shaping the game trough feedback and community discussions.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently 6+ months into developpment, My best estimate is roughly 6 to 12 months, though that could shift depending on how development goes and what feedback comes in. I won't rush it. The game will leave Early Access when it feels truly complete and well balanced.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release is planned to include complete bug fixes, rebalanced heroes and enemy stages, a polished UI, improved artwork, more units, more factions, new game modes, quality of life improvements, and full multiplayer support. Right now multiplayer is not in the game yet, and several factions and units are still works in progress. The full version is meant to be a significantly more complete and polished experience than what is available today.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable and fun. There is already a good variety of units to discover and the core mechanics are in place to learn and enjoy. That said, expect some bugs and balancing issues since I am still actively working on those. Please check the "About This" section for a full list of what is currently in the game. I read all feedback and it directly shapes what I work on next.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“AFK Tactics is currently free to play, My plan is to keep the game free to play after Early Access, and add in app purchases later on. The goal is to make in apps purchases grant more gameplay variety without affecting the game's balance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback is honestly the most important thing for me right now. Balancing, new units, factions, and game modes will all be shaped by what players tell me. You can share your thoughts and suggestions directly on the Steam Community forums for the game. I check them regularly and I take everything into account.”
