What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is still in development, with some features incomplete or to be reworked and additional optimization needed. Early Access allows players to experience the game as it evolves and provide feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's planed for the game to be in Early Access for approximately 1 to 2 years. This allows to have enough time to develop and gather player feedback to ensure the released game is good and polished as possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It's planned to introduce a new mission selection system, as well as some new tools, biomes, gameplay mechanics and expand the variety of enemies and mission types.

Additionally, we aim to further refine the UI, optimization, and a potential balancing on progression.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Duck the Miner already includes a big portion of development done, particularly the core systems and gameplay mechanics, such as the mining features, fighting, selling, procedural-generated worlds, crafting, taxes, menus, save systems and accessibility.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will increase slightly when it fully releases, reflecting the additional work and improvements done, made during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player suggestions and bug reports will always help the development for future updates.

About This Game

About

Duck the Miner is a 2D mining game, where you control a little duck, going trough financial troubles, and to fix them your job is to go explore and extract resources from asteroids to recover from debt and fix Earth.

Story

In the near future, humanity’s abuse of Earth led to its downfall, leaving only a few resilient animals struggling to survive. Together, the animals developed new ways to live, gradually gaining consciousness and rebuilding a new Earth inspired by the ruins of the previous civilization.

Dan the Duckling had a joyful childhood but struggled in school, eventually decided to drop out as his grades got worse. As an adult, he faced harsh realities: low paying jobs, mounting debts, and barely enough to pay rent or buy old rice. With no way out, Dan made a desperate choice: he applied for the most life risking job he found.

Gameplay

Now contracted by Fyction Enterprise, your mission is to extract space resources, destroy asteroids, and fight off monsters.
