The realm’s surface is cursed by demons. While you are exploring, you discover some sort of crown. As you pick it up, the ground begins to tremble and the surface starts to rise. You find yourself on a massive, floating keep...

Castle Away is a roguelite autobattle castle builder, where you scavenge for goods, slay monsters, and enhance your keep. Adapt your castle's layout to the materials you find and the enemies you face. Try a new build every run!

Build your castle

You start with a 3 by 3 grid to place structures on, which will expand the further you progress. Structures interact, so placing a Monument next to your Archery increases its damage, chaining Walls multiplies defences, hanging Banners lowers the cooldowns on a row, and many, many more combinations.

Create synergies

Create a beefy Bulwark build with endless amounts of defense - but will you slay monsters before they spiral out of control? Or go for a high-risk damage build, packing your grid with ballistas, harpoons, and flamethrowers - but can you survive incoming hits?

But be quick...

Fight your way through the realm, picking battles that strengthen your build. Each monster you slay draws a demon boss closer, until it finally emerges to challenge your keep. Plan your route carefully, claim the best loot, and survive every boss!

Team

Castle Away is created by three independent creators: René Slump (Gladiator Manager) designs the deep mechanisms and programs the game. Sim Kaart (Rift Riff, Gladiator Manager) creates art and designs a coherent experience. Matthijs Koster (Rift Riff) crafts sounds and creates music.
