Playing as Donatella — a curious and determined young girl on the trail of a mysterious sprite rumored to bring bad luck — you will explore an imaginary village in Basilicata and delve into the theme of flood risk mitigation. With the help of Virivì, a sprite from Southern Italian folklore reimagined here as a metaphor for environmental awareness, Donatella and her friend Antonio uncover various hazardous situations. Through their research, they play an active role in making the village safer.

From the initial investigations and the mysterious "alternative photos" to the critical moment of a weather alert where acquired knowledge becomes vital, Virivì e l'ombra della pioggia guides young people through a process of empowerment. It encourages them not to be paralyzed by eco-anxiety, but rather to contribute actively to the resilience of their own communities.
