Shatterlight is a survival horror platformer where fears take physical form.
A story about light that protects — and darkness that devours everything alive.

Agnes arrives at an old Victorian mansion with her parents and her younger brother, Edmond.
Soon, Edmond discovers that another family once lived in this house — and vanished without a trace.

He begins investigating the disappearance of the former owners… and suddenly disappears himself.

Searching for her brother, Agnes climbs into the attic and passes through a mirror, entering the Dark World — a distorted reflection of the mansion, filled with fear, madness, and living darkness.

The only thing protecting Agnes in the Dark World is a shard of a mirror.
In this world, mirrors are forbidden.

They were destroyed and shattered because reflected light can resist the darkness.
The shard Agnes carries is one of the few that survived.

With it, she can reflect light and direct it into the shadows — burning monsters away and opening a path forward.

Agnes is accompanied on her journey by Shade — a cunning, sarcastic, and cowardly opossum.
Once a household pet, he was transformed into a living shadow in the Dark World.

Shade is a 2D character existing as a shadow within a 3D world.
He often gets into trouble, sometimes lets Agnes down, but still tries to help — in his own way.

The vanished family did not die.
They became adepts of the darkness, losing their sanity and their human forms.

Each level of the game represents the personal nightmare of one family member:

• Arachnophobia and twisted insects

• Deranged dolls

• A greenhouse filled with aggressive plants

• A hospital soaked in fear of pain and helplessness

In the finale, Agnes descends into the basement, where the madness of the house’s owner, Thorne, takes on its most horrifying form.
Here lies his machine — an attempt to achieve immortality.

Of the entire missing family, only Ben remained sane.
A young inventor, he uncovered the true nature of the darkness and learned how to fight it.

Ben creates weapons, tools, and mechanisms that allow survival in the Dark World.
Through him, Agnes gains access to different weapons, puzzles, and new ways to interact with light.

The darkness is a living substance.
It senses, hunts, and kills.
Only the mirror — and Ben’s inventions — offer a chance to stand against it.
