What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Hovertron is built around movement, momentum, and player mastery. Those are systems that benefit enormously from real player feedback and experimentation. Early Access gives us an opportunity to put the game into players' hands early, learn how people approach the mechanics, and iterate on level design, controls, progression, and quality-of-life features while continuing development.

We're also building a game that encourages competition and exploration, so seeing how players discover shortcuts, tackle challenges, and engage with leaderboards will help shape the direction of the project.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Hovertron to remain in Early Access for around 3–6 months. Development timelines can change as we learn from player feedback and continue expanding the game, so we're intentionally keeping this estimate flexible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to expand on the Early Access experience with additional levels, more environments, and a broader range of challenges while continuing to refine the core gameplay.

Throughout Early Access, we intend to use community feedback to improve the physics, level design, progression, and overall game balance. We also plan to add more secrets, achievements, and other optional objectives to encourage exploration and replayability, alongside continued improvements to the global leaderboard experience.

Beyond new content, we expect to continue polishing the game with improvements to the user interface, visuals, audio, accessibility, onboarding, performance, stability, and overall quality of life. Our goal is for the full version to provide a larger, more refined, and more complete experience while staying true to the fast, physics-based gameplay that defines Hovertron.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version provides a complete and playable core experience. Players can race through levels, compete for fast times, explore for secrets and shortcuts, and master the physics-based hoverboard movement system.

The core gameplay systems are already implemented and enjoyable in their own right, though the amount of content, feature set, and level of polish are expected to grow throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're likely to raise the price slightly after early access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is a major reason we're releasing in Early Access. We plan to actively engage with players through Steam discussions, social media, and community channels, sharing development updates and gathering feedback on gameplay, level design, difficulty, quality-of-life improvements, and potential features.

We'll be paying particular attention to how players use the movement system, discover shortcuts and secrets, and interact with competitive elements such as leaderboards. Community feedback will help us prioritise improvements and guide the game's development throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

Speed and flip through amazing levels to chase perfect runs, or just enjoy the flow. No daily quests, no addiction mechanisms, no nonsense. Just pure gameplay: Set great times, find hidden secrets, collect achievements.

Easy to learn, hard to master. The physics-based gameplay is quick to get to grips with, and you'll be doing awesome flips off dunes in no time. But if you want to get really good, you can figure out ways of getting past obstacles that perhaps no one else has yet. Wall jumps aren't just about pushing a button, you can do better or worse depending on how you wall jump!

Beating your own times is fun, but how will you fare against the rest of the world? Hovertron rewards skilful play, and clever routes through levels. Do you have what it takes to get ahead of the rest?

There are secrets hidden throughout the game, so if you're a player that is particularly good at finding your way to every nook and cranny of a level, maybe you can be the one to track them down!
