What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ArcadeOn Engine is available in Early Access to allow players and developers to use the engine while it is still actively evolving. Our primary goals during this phase are to refine stability, performance, and usability, and to validate real-world workflows through hands-on use.

Early Access allows development to be guided by practical feedback rather than assumptions. By releasing now, we can observe how the engine is used in real projects, identify pain points earlier, and prioritise improvements that matter most to the community.

We are committed to ongoing development throughout Early Access and actively encourage player feedback. While we have a clear development direction, features and timelines may evolve as the engine grows and as community input shapes its future.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We currently aim for Early Access to last around 1–2 months, depending on development progress and feedback received during this period.

This timeframe reflects our current expectations rather than a fixed deadline. Development priorities, scope, and duration may change as we continue refining the engine.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand ArcadeOn Engine beyond its current feature set as development continues. Areas we are exploring include additional tooling such as gameplay recording, scene transitions, achievement systems, and further refinements to the export workflow.

These additions are not guaranteed and may change in scope or priority. The focus throughout Early Access remains on improving the existing experience and ensuring the engine remains stable, usable, and practical for real game development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of ArcadeOn Engine is fully usable and already supports the creation of complete 2D games.

All features listed in the “About This” section are currently implemented.

Right now, buyers get:

A functional 2D game engine ready for real projects

Working platform exports for Windows, macOS, and Web

Core tools required to build, test, and export games

Ongoing updates focused on stability, performance, and usability

As with most Early Access software, some bugs or rough edges may still exist, and parts of the engine may continue to be refined based on feedback.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The current price reflects the engine’s Early Access state. We may adjust pricing in the future to reflect changes in scope, feature set, or ongoing development needs.

Any pricing changes will be communicated clearly in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback plays an important role in shaping ArcadeOn Engine. We actively review suggestions, bug reports, and discussions, and use that input to help guide development decisions and prioritisation.

Feedback from Early Access users has already influenced improvements to both design and functionality, and we intend to continue developing the engine in close collaboration with the community as it evolves.”
