HellMarch Mass Combat for Shadowdark RPG

HellMarch Mass Combat adds fast, streamlined mass combat to Fantasy Grounds, and is designed to work alongside standard TTRPG combat rules.


Inspired by the original Chainmail approach, HellMarch allows heroic combat and mass combat to occur at the same time. Player characters fight heroes and monsters using normal RPG rules while units of troops clash around them--without switching systems or slowing play.


This module includes 78 pre-made mass combat units, fully converted for HellMarch play, including goblin mobs, zombie hordes, dragon flights, and more. Complex monster abilities have been streamlined into features already built into the mass combat rules for fast resolution.


Also included are 29 hand-drawn unit illustrations for clear visual identification on the tabletop.


HellMarch supports both Theater of the Mind battles and larger formation-based engagements. Units resolve combat through morale and decisive outcomes rather than fighting to the last soldier. Designed for fantasy RPG players--not wargamers--HellMarch helps Game Masters integrate armies, battles, and command structures naturally into an ongoing campaign.
