Upon completing a round within a run, players gain semi-random Gu Insects​ (the basic components of skills) or other rewards aligned with specific Schools​ (dozens of which exist). By combining Gu insects, players create their own unique Killer Moves to forge their personal Path of Gu.

The gameplay offers immense diversity and features a multi-dimensional combat system that transcends traditional stat comparisons. Victory can be achieved through various direct means, including:

  • Sea of Consciousness assaults

Each School possesses distinct characteristics and specialties, but no rigid rock-paper-scissors counters exist. Water may quench fire, but sufficient fire will merely evaporate the water.

Killer Move Interaction: Entity Collision

Most Killer Moves in the game possess entity attributes​ and their own vitality. When two offensively oriented Killer Moves collide, they will annihilate each other, leaving the casters unharmed.
