Miksi Early Access?

Early Access suits Contract Cooks as it lets us continue building and expanding the game while people are actively playing it. As a roguelite built around repeat runs and different contract setups, it’s important for us to see how the variety and pacing of each shift feels in practice. Direct feedback will help us confirm what’s working and refine balance, pacing, and future content.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

Contract Cooks will be in early access for approximately 12-18 months.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

We plan to expand the game’s content with additional dishes, kitchens, and contract types. The aim is to create a wider range of distinct work environments, allowing players to take on different roles, from street food vendors to high-end restaurant service, rather than remaining in a single type of kitchen. We also plan to develop a progression system where players can unlock new dishes, locations, and special contracts over time. Cooking stations will be further developed with upgrades where appropriate, alongside light narrative elements that develop alongside the player.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The current version offers a fully playable core gameplay loop, with co-op support and contract-based shifts centred around a single cuisine. Players can prepare and serve dishes, manage stock, and interact with core systems, though content variety is currently limited and will be expanded during Early Access.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access to reflect its current state. When we leave early access we plan to increase the price.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

We’ll mainly involve the community through Discord, where players can share feedback, report issues, talk to us directly and participate in polls. It will help us decide what content to focus on as we expand the game during Early Access.

Step into the role of a contract cook, taking on shifts across different kitchens where each job brings its own challenges. Work solo or bring a friend to keep up with orders, adapting to different shift conditions and build your experience as you unlock new contracts and opportunities.



Features

Master the art of multitasking. Start brewing espresso with your right hand and pour milk into a latte with your left. Top off a drink with whipped cream while your partner is holding it as they walk past you. Remember, happy customers means bigger tips. 

Run the kitchen solo, or tough it out with a friend. At least there's someone else to blame for leaving the milk frother on and the electricity bill. 

Manage your stock, reorder supplies, and collect deliveries from a very reliable delivery company. Keep things organised or don’t, and leave boxes piling up around the kitchen. Who are we to tell you how to run it?

Pick your contracts. New locations means new shift conditions. Run a coffee shop with a drive-thru, handle a heatwave where everyone wants ice, or take it easy on a laid-back shift.

Choose modifiers each day to shape your gameplay. Add more dishes for variety, automate stock management, or take on a full rush hour for a greater challenge. Higher risk brings greater rewards!

Build your kitchen your way. Rearrange your space and upgrade stations for efficiency. Don’t want to grind beans? Automate it. Tired of opening the fridge? Go with an open fridge, just don’t mind the electricity bill. Resources are limited, so choose carefully.
