Souls-Lite Combat

Helmet Head is an action-roguelike featuring a 2D souls-lite combat style inspired by titles such as Dead Cells and Hollow Knight.

The game combines traditional 2D souls-lite combat mechanics (like various weapon movesets, pogo attacks and a dodge-roll) with an elemental damage type mechanic. Certain damage types, such as fire, bleed or ice, will stack on enemies when they take damage. This damage can come from various sources and when stacked and combined in certain ways can trigger a chain reaction for big damage! The more you stack, the more damage you do!

Explore, Loot and Upgrade

Explore randomly generated environments on each run and bolster your strength by finding weapons, helmets, upgrades and items.

Each melee weapon can be upgraded individually. Upgrades are placed in slots, which activate sequentially from left to right with each hit. You will need to find the right combos and sequences to get the most out of your build!

Death and Progression

Helmet Head features a perma-death mechanic where each death ends the run and resets your character. There is no meta-progression in this game for you character, you will start each run at the same level of power. However, you can expand the general item pool with new weapons, helmets and upgrades by exploring the environments, discovering secrets and defeating tough enemies/bosses. 

Go Forth and Save Your Home

As the last remaining Warden of the Forgotten Plane you are tasked with bringing an end to the calamity beset upon your home. Adorned in your trusty helm, and armed with sword and bow, you must go forth and bring retribution to he who threatens even the gods themselves!
