Welcome to the Arkem Demo. It is great to have you here.

What is Arkem?

Arkem is a medieval single-player game that combines city-building strategy and third-person RPG. You build a castle from modular parts, expand your settlement and manage resources. Switch seamlessly between building mode and direct character control to explore an open world, meet NPCs, unlock quests and equip your soldiers to defend your castle against raids.

About the Demo:

Arkem has been in development for around five years now. However, several important gameplay features are still missing, and releasing the game in Early Access in its current state would not be responsible.

That said, there is already plenty to do and discover in Arkem. If you have always wanted to build a large castle and can currently live without a fully developed economy system, you will most likely have a good time here.

If the economic aspect (optimising supply chains, managing resources, achieving progress) is very important to you,
I would recommend waiting a little longer.

The military capabilities are also still very limited at present.

This demo is meant as a first taste. Please feel free to leave feedback. I appreciate both positive comments and constructive criticism.

Demo info at a glance:

• No time limit

• No saving

• One map, a small number of NPCs with dialogues, freely explorable in third person, with loot and enemies

• The economy system is only partially functional and not balanced yet; cheat codes and the marketplace can help if needed

• Castle buildings and building parts currently do not require resources

• UI and dialogues are in English

• Performance is only moderate; high graphics quality requires a powerful PC

• Bugs without end; the chance you will not run into bugs while playing is very low
