What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Jargogle came to life when, after 8 years of on-and-off development research and unreleased projects, I decided to finally brew something market-worthy and release it.
This videogame is not even close to being called a finished product, but I believe that, ready or not, it is vital to have it released to the public.
I see Early Access as an opportunity to create a community with strong roots, where every feedback, suggestion, idea, and criticism towards the game and it's development is encouraged.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There are many features, mechanics and visual thematics that I still want to research and explore, and content to be added.
I'm envisioning to have Jargogle in Early Access for 1-2 years until I'm ready to tie things up and move onto the next project.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is to shape Jargogle through experimentation and community feedback in it's Early Access state.
After we have a core-loop that's more or less set in stone, content extensions are planned be done in large batches until we get close to the 1.0 launch.
Features and content that are already planned include:
- Additional paths with unique traps.
- Additional sets of armor with unique quirks.
- A proper upgrade system to both the paths and the armor sets.
- A physics-prone hub for the player to explore.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of Jargogle is a very early one, but the simulated physics and the procedural generation, which make up the core-gameplay, are pretty much done (prone to polishment, of course).
It's current content includes 1 set of armor with no perks and 1 path to explore, in the visual thematic of a basic dungeon with basic obstacles.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I'm planning to raise the price when 1.0 gets launched.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Primarily through Steam forums and a Discord server.
I'd like to gather any and all of the community's feedback, suggestions, ideas, criticism, bug reports, and everything in between!
I may be Jargogle's sole developer, but the way I see it, this videogame is as much yours as it is mine.
The "Friends" in "Von Akh & Friends" are all of you.”

About This Game

Jargogle is a top-down action roguelike with simulated physics, set in a world where the door to different realms is open for exploration.

Equipped with only a shield, do you have the tenacity and the wits required to delve into these paths and bring back it's treasures?

  • Simulated Physics: From the stone blocks to the crossbow's arrows, objects have weight and generate impact as they're moving. Discover ways to conquer this highly reactive and chaotic environment.

  • Procedural Generation: Each path is unique ,and you'll never face the same set of obstacles twice. Analyze, plan your routes, and create strategies to reach further into the uncharted chaos that lies ahead.

  • Pseudo-3D Pixel Art: In a very low-resolution fusion of pixel-art and low-poly, models are pre-rendered into 2D assets in order to achieve a fairly interesting and unexplored visual illusion.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS *: Windows 7 or later
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: OpenGL ES 2.0 compatible
    • Storage: 200 MB available space
    • Additional Notes: I have not fully tested these, but it's not a hardware-heavy videogame. If your machine meets the requirements listed above but is unable to run the videogame, contact me so we can avoid further misguidance.
* Starting January 1st, 2024, the Steam Client will only support Windows 10 and later versions.
