Down Below casts you into an afterlife where myth, religion, and legend overlap. You are a lone traveler racing for the fabled city of Agoralopis while the creeping force known as the Oblivion closes in with every step.

The game is a narrative driven adventure focused on exploration, dialogue, and sudden high intensity combat. You will uncover layered lore through conversations and environmental storytelling while shaping how characters react to your choices. Exploration takes place in a top down pixel world, while combat shifts into fast paced arena encounters where survival depends on movement, positioning, and awareness. Each chapter builds toward powerful confrontations and morally complex decisions.

Chapter One is the opening chapter of the full experience and introduces the world, its first cast of characters, and the core gameplay systems. Future chapters will expand the story, locations, and mechanics as the journey toward Agoralopis continues.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

Developed by a solo creator releasing as ThePingoose. After several years working in Unreal Engine 5, the project was reimagined in GDevelop to focus on a more compact, story driven pixel experience with a strong emphasis on atmosphere and narrative design.
