Why Early Access?

“Last State is in Early Access because I believe in building this game together with the community.

While the core survival experience is complete and fully playable, I want to expand the game's depth and content based on player feedback. Early Access allows me to:

Test and balance the extensive crafting and survival systems with real player data
Gather feedback on which features players enjoy most and what needs improvement
Expand the world with new biomes, wildlife and points of interest based on community requests
Refine the difficulty curve to ensure the game is challenging but fair
Build features that matter to the players who love deep survival simulations

The foundation is solid: you can survive, craft, build, hunt, farm, and explore for dozens of hours. But there's so much more I want to add and your input will shape what comes next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I anticipate 6-12 months in Early Access, depending on the scope of features added and community feedback. My focus is on quality over speed. I won't rush out of EA until the game meets my vision and your expectations.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Planned for Full Release:

- Expanded world content: 2-3 additional biomes, more wildlife species
- Quest system: Dynamic story events and objectives
- Enhanced combat: More weapons, tactics, and enemy variety
- Quality of life improvements: Better UI, tooltips, tutorials
- New mechanics (electricity, enhanced animal traps system...)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Current Early Access Version includes:

- Complete core survival loop (hunger, thirst, warmth, health, fatigue, hygiene)
- 8 biomes with procedural generation
- 100+ craftable items and structures
- Hunting system with a lot of animal types
- Fishing with rods, traps, and bait
- Farming system with 15 crops
- NPC encounters (friendly traders and hostile survivors)
- Settlement building and permanent structures
- Skill progression system”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will increase upon full release to reflect the additional content and polish. Early Access supporters get the game at a lower price and receive all future updates for free.
