“Early Access as a single developer allows me to develop VOID81 gradually, gathering real feedback from players and refining gameplay, levels, and mechanics as the project grows.”

Hvor lang tid vil dette spil være i tidlig adgang?

“The duration of Early Access will depend on the development of planned content and feedback from the community, but we estimate that the game will remain in Early Access until approximately December 2027. The goal is to release the full version only when the experience is fully polished. The development plan includes expanding the number of levels, a Creative Mode currently in testing, and the possible introduction of multiplayer mode.”

Hvorledes kommer den fulde version til at være anderledes end produktet i tidlig adgang?

“I plan to gradually expand the content compared to the Early Access version, with the aim of offering a significantly greater number of levels and a more defined narrative structure in the full version. The development plan includes the introduction of a Creative Mode that allows users to create and share their own levels, multiplayer functionality to play with other players or friends, and character improvements, making their movements more realistic and enjoyable.”

Hvad er den nuværende tilstand for versionen med tidlig adgang?

“The current Early Access version includes approximately 10 playable levels, featuring 7 different monsters. Gameplay is based on exploration, collecting keys needed to complete levels, and environmental puzzles. There are also collectable coins, which do not currently play a central role in gameplay. Each level offers different challenges and mechanics.”

Ændrer spillets pris sig under og efter tidlig adgang?

“I plan to increase the price of the game when the full version is released to reflect the new content and features that will be added. The expected increase will be moderate, approximately between 20% and 40% of the current price, but I do not anticipate increases above this percentage.”

“I want to create a direct dialogue with the community, gathering comments, suggestions, and bug reports through all available channels, such as Steam and Discord. Player feedback will guide development, helping me to constantly improve the gaming experience.”

VOID81: The Backrooms is an experience that combines survival horror, 3D platforming, and retro 80s atmospheres, offering a unique journey through mysterious, surreal, and ever-changing worlds.

In this title, each level represents a different reality to explore, each with its own style, puzzles, and entities. No two settings are alike, and each advancement is a small adventure with ever-changing gameplay.

The story of VOID81 is deliberately fragmented and cryptic: players will discover clues along the way, but the truth behind everything that is happening will only be revealed in the final level of the full version. The tone oscillates between mystery, nostalgia and unease, reminiscent of the style of backrooms and light psychological horror, without sacrificing the more dynamic and movement-oriented sections typical of 3D platformers.

VOID81: The Backrooms is not meant to be just a horror game or just a platformer: it is a multifaceted journey designed to surprise the player with every new door that opens.

During Early Access, new levels, puzzles, and content will be added constantly, expanding the game universe and enriching the story with new clues and mysteries to decipher.

The Keys are used to activate the portal and reach the exit, allowing you to complete the level.

In some levels, however, there will be no Keys: you just need to find the portal directly in order to escape.

The Drag & Drop system will be essential in some levels: you can grab, move, and drop objects to progress through the area or even complete the entire level.

Each level features a different monster, so there is no repetition.

Each one has unique characteristics and different behaviors.

Fortunately, not all levels include monsters: in some areas, you will face other types of difficulties and challenges.
