SISU - the Winter war

It's the 30th of November, 1939. Soviet forces has invaded its neighbour Finland.
You will take the role as Field marshal Mannerheim in the defense of Finland.
Will you be able to position your forces where it matters to hold back the red tide. For the tide is endless and you have a limited amount of men and resources to to defeat it.

Overview

The game is a single player strategy game were you take control of the Finnish forces during the winter war. 
The game is a mix between a turn based campaign map, were you will position your armies in a way to prevent the Soviet forces to take control over important territories containing different resource hubs.
And real time battles, where you will more directly control the soldiers of each army, fighting on a tactical level on some of the wars historical battlegrounds. 

But be aware! Each battle will cost you fuel, ammunition and most importantly, manpower! So it is of outmost importance that you keep control over these resource hubs in order to resupply each army between battles.
Attrition will be the your greatest enemy. 

Will you be able to break the enemies moral before the Finnish lines are depleted?

Armies and tactical battles.

Each army consist of 12 squads of soldiers, ranging from rifle squads to AT guns and tanks.
This composition can be customised to make sure you have the right tools for what you will be facing. 
Between each battle round you will be able to tweak your armies as long as you have the resources to do so, in preperation for upcoming battles or just to reinforce an ongoing engagement.

As two armies meet on the campaign map during a battle round, an engagement will take place. This will be played out in a tactical battle on a map representative of territory you are in. For example the Raate road. 
In these battles you will guide your 12 squads to take control of, or hold, valuable strategic locations, while you also try to inflict enough losses on your enemy for them to retreat.
Depending on if you win or lose the battle, the battle line will be redrawn, and the engagement will continue in the next battle round but on a different part of that tactical map. Either you have pushed forward, or you have fallen back.

Each battle will also result in the survival or loss of your soldiers. You don't directly control each soldier on the battlefield, but instead they will have a bit of a mind of their own. Taking cover, panicing or performing heroics. Each surviving soldier will gain experience that will enhance their performance in future battles. So it is worth to play cautiously to make sure that your soldiers survive as long as possible.
So some battles might be better to avoid, just to make sure you have the right army composition to take on your enemy on your own terms.
