Overture!

HIEROSAGA: OVERTURE is the initial proof-of-concept iteration of the game presenting the first chapter of the story. It covers the arrival into the desert town of Akimor and the majority of the first dungeon. It also includes an infinite mode that takes full advantage of the generation algorithm for a more roguelike experience!

What's going on?

HIEROSAGA chronicles the adventure of a small town knight who journeys to a mythical desert town in the east seeking riches and ancient treasure. Along the way, he crosses paths with a gang of rowdy slave traders, as well as their captive: a scheming mage who unknowingly manages to land all of them - and perhaps even the world - in hot water.

The DNA

HIEROSAGA is a rogue-lite tactical role playing adventure inspired by games like Azure Dreams, Tactics Ogre, and Chrono Trigger. Featuring a free movement "Exploration mode" when out of combat, discover secrets and collect helpful items at your own pace- unearth artefacts that grant you skills and play around with your build in the equip menu to prepare for whatever might be around the corner. A grid-based "Combat mode" is triggered when an enemy is nearby, affixing the player to the "battle board" and turning the dungeon into a turn-based chess match where the name of the game can be escape, survival, or elimination of all enemies!
