You're trapped in an isolated neighborhood sealed off from the world - and surrounded by thousands of roaming undead.

The Withered is a first-person zombie survival horror focused on tension, stealth, and desperate close-quarters combat.

There is no escape. No rescue coming.
Just you… and an entire region crawling with zombies that can smell, hear, and hunt you.

  • Closed, isolated region


    A whole suburban district turned into a quarantine zone. You cannot leave - you can only survive inside.
    Edit: The quarantine zone will expand with future updates.

  • Dynamic Day & Night Cycle


    Daylight offers temporary safety; night turns every corner into a deadly blind spot.

  • Intelligent Zombies


    They wander, search, listen to noises, and track you if they sense movement. Hiding is often better than fighting.

  • Brutal Melee Combat


    Use anything you find - bats, axes, tools - to defend yourself. One bite is enough to end your run.

    Avoid large groups, sneak through houses, and stay quiet. Zombies respond dynamically to sound and light.

    Scavenge houses, garages, kitchens and sheds to craft useful items, tools, and survival gear.

    The entire region is alive and constantly moving. You are never truly safe, even when you think you're alone.

A slow, immersive, atmospheric survival horror experience where every noise matters, every light source gives you away, and every decision can save your life - or doom it.

Development Notes

The Withered has been in development for just about a month, and the first public demo is already on the way. This demo will showcase the core atmosphere, zombie behavior, exploration, and the foundations of the survival system.

The full game is planned to release in Early Access in the first half of 2026. Development will continue openly and transparently, with regular devlogs, new builds, features, and improvements released step by step.

The development of The Withered is divided into four phases, and I’m currently finishing the first one - the core survival mechanics. The next phases will gradually expand the game with a clothing system, basic crafting, cooking, electricity and generators, vehicles, farming, an RPG progression system, diseases and injuries, a full weather system, new weapons, and much more.
