What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Not My Child is a psychological horror experience that benefits greatly from player feedback. Early Access allows us to refine pacing, scares, performance, and difficulty based on real player reactions. Community input will help shape the final experience and ensure the game reaches its full potential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Not My Child to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months, depending on feedback and development progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop, atmosphere, story introduction, and a playable hospital chapter.

The full release will expand the story, add new chapters and locations, improve AI behavior, introduce additional scares and mechanics, polish visuals and audio, and further optimize performance.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and stable, featuring:

A complete introductory experience

A playable hospital chapter

Core mechanics (exploration, objectives, power switches, collectibles)

Horror atmosphere, lighting, sound design, and jumpscares

While playable from start to finish in its current scope, additional content and polish are planned.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the price lower during Early Access as a thank-you to early supporters.

As development progresses and new content, features, and polish are added, we may gradually increase the price to reflect the expanded experience.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an active role in shaping the development of Not My Child during Early Access. Players will be encouraged to share feedback on gameplay balance, horror pacing, difficulty, puzzle clarity, performance, and overall atmosphere.

Feedback will be collected through Steam Discussions, Steam reviews, and the official Discord server. Player suggestions and reported issues will be reviewed regularly and used to guide updates, bug fixes, and future content decisions.

Community input will help influence improvements to existing mechanics, the intensity and frequency of horror elements, environmental storytelling, and quality-of-life features. Major updates and changes will be communicated through Steam announcements and patch notes so players can follow the game’s development progress.”

About This Game

Not My Child is a short, story-driven psychological horror experience.

Explore a realistic, unsettling environment where every sound and shadow tells a part of the story. Uncover what really happened, and confront the past you tried to forget.
