What is Offshore Sailor?

The game is currently in development, but here is the vision:

Offshore Sailor is a sailing simulation game that lets you experience the thrill of offshore racing and ocean exploration, all from home. Whether you’re exploring the open sea or competing in legendary races, every voyage unfolds on a 1/60 scaled Earth with its own weather system, unique for each game.

The goal is simple: sail fast, sail smart. Configure your sails, adjust your route, and use the wind to your advantage to cross the finish line before your rivals. The simulation captures the essence and strategy of real sailing while keeping the experience accessible and fun.

At its heart, Offshore Sailor is a tribute to the passion of sailing, designed both for sailors who want to relive the adventure at home and for newcomers eager to discover why this sport inspires so many.

What Offshore Sailor is not

Offshore Sailor doesn’t try to replace real sailing; nothing compares to the feeling of a real boat cutting through waves and the wind on your face. It’s not a hyper-realistic simulator, but an authentic yet simplified recreation designed for enjoyment. Some behaviors are intentionally tuned for fun and accessibility rather than strict realism.

The world is scaled at 1/60th of real Earth, so long ocean crossings remain immersive but never drag on for weeks. You’ll still feel the vastness of the sea, just condensed enough to fit into your schedule.

The Team

Offshore Sailor is developed by me, Marc-André Ploux, a passionate solo developer and sailor. Every aspect, from development to 3D models, is handcrafted with love and precision. As the project grows, new collaborators will join the adventure to help bring even more realism and depth to the experience.
