Proč předběžný přístup?

„This product is nowhere near complete, I intend to add roughly 5 times the content, 10 times the polish, and four buckets of love before I think it's even worth paying for. I'm releasing this demo so you can have a chance to walk alongside me as the game is developed, and tell me what you like and dislike along the way.“

„At its current pace the game should leave early access sometime in mid to late 2027, although this timeline may shift forward or back depending on how much time I can devote to its development.“

„The full version of the game will simply expand on what's already here, deepening existing mechanics and polishing existing interactions. More specifically I intend on deepening progression, adding more emphasis on the physics-based recipes, and so on.“

„Playable, but lacking the depth and polish that I think is necessary to call it a complete product. The current version features fully functional combat, crafting, randomized NPCs, and a boss fight, as well as many of the basic systems that will be needed later on in development.“

„Rext will have a free demo available with most of the content of the full game in it, and the final release is currently planned to have a small price tag attached to it, which will slowly grow as new content is added to the game.“

Jak plánujete zapojit komunitu do vývoje této hry?

„I plan to involve the community pretty regularly. Assuming this gets off the ground I intent to host a plethora of polls regarding the balancing of mechanics, ideas for the future of development, and so on. Once I reach a point in development that the community can be involved in the development of 'fun' parts of the game, I will add a link with instructions on how to do so.“

Informace o hře

Exploration is something many games take for granted. It's commonplace in today's world for games to provide hand-holding tutorials which guide the player over even the smallest of early-on bumps in the road. Rext is the exact opposite of this. You will likely poison yourself, murder harmless frogs, anger ancient entities of mass destruction make new friends, and much more!

Fight

Rext features a suite of enemies to fight, ranging from simple woodland creatures to nameless deities of times long past. Many of the enemies in Rext feature unique combat mechanics, and optional interactions should you take the time to explore them.

Explore

As you stumble blindly through the woods you'll explore a lore-rich randomly-generated world containing travelers and traders, long-abandoned shrines, and plenty of small interactions which tie into each other. Everything serves a purpose! Every tree, rock, and butterfly can be crushed, burned, ground up, and more often than not turned into some kind of potion. The only way to find out is to experiment!

Craft

Rext features dozens upon dozens of crafting recipes, ranging from creating simple weapons from the environment around you to complex brewing and alchemy. You can create anything from spears to mechanisms of mass destruction to magical weapons and implements.

Discover

The world you're exploring isn't quite as it seems, see how long it takes you to piece together the bigger plot at hand. Every NPC, every item, and every interaction will bring you closer to understanding what's really happened.
