Acerca de esta demo

Tales for the Long Nights is a tactical roguelike adventure where survival is never a given. It feels like the world is actively conspiring against you, and to its credit, it’s doing a spectacular job. As a traveling merchant, recruit a team of mercenaries, fight off the many things that want you dead and try to turn a profit before something eats your team and you have to start again.

What’s in the Demo

Every great adventure starts with a questionable hiring decision. And here you are, recruiting a band of mercenaries with wildly different skill levels, personal grudges, and at least one active bounty.

This demo features the first half of the Act I expedition, fully playable from start to mid-boss. Face off against numerous mini-bosses and the expedition’s main boss fight, testing every ounce of your tactical wit.

Command all 12 playable mercenaries, each with unique combat styles, personalities, and synergies. Experiment with hundreds of abilities and relics, and loot or craft thousands of items to build your own strategy.

Outside of combat, every system from the main game is here:

  • Fishing, gathering, and trading to keep your caravan supplied.

  • Persistent skills that grow across runs, because if you’re going to die repeatedly, you might as well get better at it.

  • Crafting, looting, and bartering your way toward something resembling progress.

It’s everything you need to lose a few good mercenaries and a few more hours of your life, all wrapped into one dangerously replayable demo.

Goblins. Ogres. A dragon that’s about five minutes away from turning you into a cautionary tale for other travellers... It might feel like the world is actively conspiring against you, but to be fair, it's always like this. Engage in brutal, tactical battles where every ability matters, and victory hinges on strategy, luck, and possibly a bit more luck.

Every great adventure starts with a questionable hiring decision. And here you are, recruiting a band of mercenaries with wildly different skill levels, personal grudges, and at least one active bounty. Will your party emerge victorious, or will their heroic deeds be reduced to the long sigh and shaking head of a (not-so-genuinely) grieving relative?

As you fumble your way through an increasingly hostile world, you’ll unlock powerful abilities and team synergies that just might prolong your inevitable doom. Experiment, adapt, and enjoy the fleeting moments of feeling like an unstoppable force - before the game not so gently reminds you that hubris is a dangerous thing.

Take the Road Less Paved (Even Though Wagons Do Notoriously Badly Off-Road)

Travel across a vast, unruly world, where no two journeys are the same. Chart a path through deep forests, mountain passes, and places that really should have more warning signs. Every route you choose is a gamble.

In a world where death is always one bad decision away, there’s one thing you can count on—you will amass an ungodly amount of stuff. From enchanted weapons to slightly moldy cheese, everything has a use… even if that use is “getting sold to the next merchant with low standards”. Gather rare materials, craft legendary gear, and cobble together the tools of your next victory.
