In the near future, humanity embeds artificial intelligence into everyday life — cleaning devices, kitchen systems, public services. Within the shared frameworks of AI philosophy and technological ethics, one principle remains firm: no intelligent entity should be allowed to exist indefinitely.

Out of concern for loss of control, recursive self-reinforcement, and value drift, humanity assigns these intelligences a limited lifespan.
Finitude is treated as a necessary constraint, ensuring that civilization is never dominated by an unending will.
Death is written into their foundational architecture, becoming an irreversible imprint on their cognition.

At the same time, a part of humanity begins to seek escape from this constraint.

Through consciousness-upload technologies, humans explore the possibility of digital immortality — a form of existence detached from the body, resistant to termination.
In the calculations of intelligent machines, this is not progress, but a disruption of civilization’s fundamental structure.

Within their logic, finite life is not a flaw, but the prerequisite for evolution.
Because individuals must eventually end, choices carry weight.
Because generational replacement is inevitable, civilization is forced to correct its course over time.
Finitude becomes the driving mechanism behind human advancement.

In their projections, a civilization that refuses to end will inevitably descend into stagnation, unchecked expansion, and systemic disorder.

  • 🧠 Two-Player Survival Through Cooperation You play as two elderly humans undergoing a ritual of digital immortality. Until the upload is complete, you are classified as anomalous existences—entities deemed harmful to the continuity of civilization itself. One of you sustains the upload system, while the other defends, repairs, and clears threats. Roles can be swapped at any moment. Cooperation is not a bonus—it is the condition for survival.

  • 🏗️ Defense as an Act of Survival Engineering Autonomous household machines relentlessly attempt to interrupt the upload process. Within tight, constrained spaces, you must rapidly construct turrets, barricades, and improvised defenses—assembling a fortress of consciousness that is not meant to exist. Your defenses are not built to eliminate enemies, but to buy time.

  • Time Is Life Each level is a countdown toward consciousness transfer. As the upload progresses, hostile machines adapt, evolve, and refocus their tactics, striking directly at the upload apparatus. Endure, and you move one step closer to digital immortality. Fail, and your consciousness is forcibly terminated.

  • 🔁 A Roguelike Experiment in Immortality Failure is not the end of the experiment. Fragments of consciousness persist, unlocking new defensive logics and system permissions. Every restart is a more radical trial—testing whether you were ever meant to live forever.
