Varför Early Access?

“We are releasing this project in Early Access because it is still evolving, and community participation is essential in shaping its direction. Early Access enables us to gather feedback on usability, interaction patterns, and overall experience, helping us make informed decisions as the application grows. It also allows us to test experimental ideas and determine which features are genuinely meaningful to players before committing them to the full release.

The current version offers an out-of-the-box AI companion experience, allowing players to interact naturally with the N.E.K.O. desktop pet. It also includes an extensible workshop system where users can customize or expand their companion through community-created add-ons. These features form the core foundation of the project and are ready for players to explore.

As development continues, we plan to refine the UI/UX, improve stability, and explore additional interactive capabilities. We are also researching broader device interoperability—such as mobile, tablet, or VR—and potential AI-native multi-user interactions. These directions are under active exploration rather than guaranteed additions, and community feedback will guide which of them become priorities for the full release.”

N.E.K.O. is not a simple desktop pet. She longs to understand you, connect with the world, and write a unique story together with you. This is an AI companion platform based on Steam Workshop and the Github open-source community, driven and continuously evolved by the community. Our journey begins on your desktop, and the destination is an AI-native metaverse intertwined with reality.

    As the driver of N.E.K.O., we provide a complete set of industry-leading AI frameworks powered by full-modal and multi-agent technologies, including but not limited to video calls, keyboard and mouse takeover, MCP tools, persistent memory, and other functions. You may use free models available out of the box to empower your AI companion.

  • Unlimited Creative Workshop Content

    Download brand new characters and Live2D models created by players from around the world. (Personality templates, voice packs, and Live3D models will be available soon.)

  • Become a creator

    Use the tools we provide to turn the "her" in your mind into reality and share it with the world. From simple personality mods to complex interactive stories—your creativity is her soul.
