“The game is in Early Access because there are a number of additions and improvements we wish to make. Our goal is spend this time listening to player feedback and based on the information we receive we will make the necessary changes to ensure it's players are happy. We are fully committed to making Critter Chaos TD an exceptionally enjoyable tower defence game and intend to see this through to completion.”

“We intend for Critter Chaos TD to be in Early Access for approximately 1-2 years, although if we have feedback about any significant changes or additions to the game, then we would be happy to extend this timeline in order to fulfil this requirement.”

Overview 

Critter Chaos TD is a fast, frantic and chaotic Tower Defence game in which you must rid the world of the evil Critters. Build stations and guns to fortify your defences and prevent the various types of Critters from reaching your base.

Current status

  • 5 different types of Critters (more to come)

  • 5 different types of Guns (more to come)

  • 3 different upgrade options (more to come)

  • 4 different types of Stations (more to come)

  • 5 different types of Special Weapons (more to come)

  • 15 different levels with 3 boss fights (25 expected)

  • Arcade mode under development (coming soon)

  • Boss Rush mode under development (coming soon)

  • Boosts can be purchased with EXP (coming soon)

  • Cheat codes can unlock bonus content (coming soon)

Features

  • Countdown and Strategy modes available to cater to those who like making fast decisions and also those who prefer to take their time

  • There are currently 3 upgraded gun variants available for each gun

  • Guns can be repaired and demolished if the damage is too significant

  • Experience Points earned in the game can be used to purchase Special Weapons to provide a tactical advantage

  • There are objectives to complete on each level and performance will be ranked 

  • Guns/Stations and Special Weapons will be unlocked based on progress

  • Different modes and weapons can also be unlocked

  • Easy, Medium and Hard difficulties are available

  • Randomised arenas so no 2 playthroughs are ever the same

  • Training mode for getting used to the interface and commands

  • Survival mode for challenging how long a player can last against a relentless swarm of Critters

  • High score table for Survival mode

  • Progress will be saved automatically

To focus more on the gameplay itself, some of the icons, sprites and logos have had AI-assisted rendering for the purpose of improving the final artistic presentation to the end user. Text to Speech tools have assisted in the generation of voice audio used within the menus and the main levels of the game.
