The Windsor Branch

Once operated by the Metropolitan Railway, the branch to Windsor & Eton Central opened to provide connecting traffic to the iconic royal town. While the shortest of the 3 branches, its elevated tracks curving round and right up to Castle Hill, the public entrance to Windsor Castle, has made it a very popular and busy route.



The Marlow Branch

The Marlow branch of the Great Western is an amalgamation of two historical routes, the Great Marlow Railway, and what remains of the Wycombe Railway. While originally built as a connection between the GWR and Chiltern main lines, today the tracks are curtailed at the aptly named Bourne End, where services then change ends to serve Marlow, a shuttle affectionately known as the Marlow Donkey.



The Henley Branch

Referred to as the Regatta Line, the branch to Henley came about largely due to the proximity of the Thames, where riverside towns became a common sight. With the mainline through Twyford already in situ, the locals demanded a direct connection, and today, the near-straight branch still stands in its entirety and is at its busiest during riverside events.



In a first for Train Sim World, explore 3 distinct, historic and operationally independent branches combined into a single package. Work each line as a GWR driver or guard aboard the versatile GWR Class 165; shuttle back and forth with Windsor Castle in view, pick up tokens on your way to Marlow, or row up to the royal regattas of Henley, all while taking in the scenic views and crossing over the narrower stretches of the River Thames.

Utilise Fast Travel to explore the branches or Route Hop to Great Western Express (available separately) to travel on the main line between Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford!
