What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because Magic Twinborn is built around systems that benefit from real player feedback: elemental interactions, survivor-like pacing, character builds, boss encounters, and same-screen cooperation. The core game is playable today, and Early Access gives us a practical way to refine balance, clarity, accessibility, and cooperative play together with the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last roughly 9–12 months. This is an estimate rather than a promise; the schedule may change as we evaluate player feedback, balancing needs, technical stability, and the scope of the remaining work.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand and polish the Early Access foundation with additional stages, enemies, bosses, character and elemental build options, cooperative interactions, progression, narrative presentation, interface improvements, and accessibility work. The exact scope may evolve during development, and planned features are not guaranteed until they are implemented and released.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core survivor-like combat loop, ten core elements, character and build progression, elemental interactions, enemies and boss encounters, and playable single-player and same-screen local co-op. Spells cast automatically while players focus on movement, positioning, upgrades, elemental combinations, and teamwork. We plan to continue improving content, balance, clarity, performance, and polish throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as substantial new content and features are added. Any pricing change will be announced in advance. The final price and timing may change as the scope of the game evolves.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share feedback through the Steam Community forums and the official Magic Twinborn Discord. We plan to review reports and discussions about balance, elemental combinations, cooperative play, accessibility, bugs, performance, and overall pacing, then use that feedback to help prioritize development.”

About This Game

Magic was once forgotten by the world.

Now an ancient darkness is awakening once more. Only the mages who gather again can awaken the elements, protect one another, and restore magic’s lost glory.

Magic Twinborn is a survivor-like action roguelite built around two-player elemental cooperation, made for families, friends, and players of different ages and experience levels to enjoy together.

Spells cast automatically, making it easy for newcomers to join. Movement, builds, elemental reactions, and teamwork leave plenty of room for experienced players to experiment and improve.

Two Characters, Two Elements

Every character has an elemental identity of their own.

One player might set the battlefield ablaze while the other spreads the flames with Wind or turns them into Steam with Water. One creates the opportunity; the other completes the reaction.

The ten core elements—Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wood, Wind, Water, Earth, Dark, Metal, and Light—can interact with spells, enemies, terrain, and mechanisms.

No one is simply following behind. Even when players have different experience levels, each person brings an element that matters.

Cast Cooperative Ultimates Together

An elemental ultimate is born from two characters, two elements, and a casting decision made together.

Build energy with your partner, read the battle, and respond together to unleash the ultimate created by your elemental pair. It might break an encirclement, reshape the battlefield, create a place of safety, or open the way to defeat a boss.

This is not one player casting while the other watches. It is magic that can only be completed by two players acting together.

Easy to Join, Better Together

Auto-casting lets players focus on moving, dodging, and helping one another without memorizing complicated button sequences.

Experienced players can explore builds, guide elemental reactions, and manage the rhythm of the battlefield. Younger players and newcomers can still contribute through movement, collecting resources, using character abilities, and responding to their partner.

Whether you are a parent and child, siblings, or a group of friends, you can find your own way to cooperate on the same screen.

A World That Responds to You

The paths, enemies, mechanisms, and bosses within each stage are not set in stone.

How you use the elements, face danger, and help one another can change the battles ahead. A quick solution may create new consequences, while a clever piece of teamwork may reveal an unexpected path.

When adventuring alone, you may form a bond with a mysterious soul. When playing with family and friends, every elemental pairing creates new possibilities for cooperation.

There is no single correct answer to magic.

The greatest magic comes from the bond between you.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools have been used in a limited way during development to assist in creating some marketing assets (such as concept art and sound effects). These assets are curated, edited, and finalized by the developers to ensure quality and originality.
In-game systems such as enemy behavior, wave generation, and co-op difficulty scaling rely on traditional game AI logic, not generative AI.
