About This Game

The Story

You are Nc_35, the 35th increment of a small, harmless robot, who has found refuge on the steep walls of a mysterious space station. Although, at first, you seem ordinary, something sets you apart from the other automatons occupying the station: you have free will. While this faculty grants you extraordinary possibilities, it is also why the system that runs the station has identified you as a parasite. To survive, you will have to keep a low profile and ensure the safety of your refuge.

The Objectives

Your refuge must not be discovered, and if it is, it must be defended. You will quickly need to learn how to use the various materials found around the station. These materials will allow you to build, customize, and secure your refuge to stay under the station's radar. You will be able to create devices, upgrade your components, and maintain a living space with complete peace of mind.

The Challenges

The larger the refuge, the greater the risk of being detected. Therefore, it is essential to constantly ensure that the measures in place to defend the refuge are sufficient and well maintained. By the same token, the more measures there are, the greater the amount of materials needed to keep them functioning properly..

Game Mechanics

Most of the materials used are non-renewable. While it's possible to design machines to automate their harvesting or production, some materials are rarer. Finding them requires taking risks, leaving the refuge, and exploring the station's endless walls.

Game Modes

There are several game modes available. Depending on the mode you choose, the difficulty and genre may vary.

  • Creative mode

    • In creative mode, the game can be a simple risk-free sandbox where we build and customize our refuges. Environments in which it is possible to maintain agricultural spaces to cultivate stellar flora or breed strange space fauna.

  • Survival Mode (Story)

    • In survival mode, you have the same construction possibilities as in creative mode, but you have to find or craft your materials. The game's constraints are much stricter and the risks are very real!

  • Hybrid mode

    • In hybrid mode, the player will find the tranquility of creative mode, without the abundance of materials and the excitement of survival mode, without too many risks!

Different Zones… different game modes!

  • Refuge Zones: 3rd-person view

  • Exploration Zones: Side-scrolling (2.5D) Enless runner-style game

  • Secondary Exploration Zone: Side-scrolling (2.5D) game

Refuge Zones

  • In the refuge zones, you can, if you wish, modify the environment, personalizing it to your taste. Some refuge zones are more at risk than others. If you want to occupy them in peace, you will have to ensure a rigorous defense. Fortunately, it is possible to automate the defense of refuges, for example: turrets, shields, traps, automated patrols, etc.

  • It is also in the refuge zones that you will be able to flourish. If you gather the necessary conditions, you will be able to take the time to cultivate the stellar flora, to raise and tame the strange fauna of space. The refuge zones are ideal places to use the different materials that you have in your possession. With all these materials, it is possible for you to build, transform, personalize and especially optimize your equipment.

  • When it's time to leave the safety of your refuge, you can do so on foot... But you'd probably prefer to do so on your favorite vehicle, a mini-thruster. The mini-thruster allows you to face dangers outside the refuge, going further and faster to increase your collection of materials and collect valuable data.

Exploration Zones

  • These zones are explored at the wheel of your mini-thruster. Until ALL the conditions are met to move on to a higher stage, you remain in endless game mode. The stages are divided by containment zones. To escape a containment zones, you must either eliminate all forms of threat, solve a puzzle, or both. Only when you break the containment of the zone will you (randomly) obtain a new temporary upgrade and will you be able to save the ones you already have. Afterwards, you will have the choice of continuing on your way or returning to your refuge zone with all your acquired skills.

  • You can return to the refuge at any time with your data and XP. However, if you do so between 2 containment zones (and not after breaking a containment zone) you will lose your loot, materials, and any unsaved temporary upgrades. The only way to save a temporary upgrade is to go to the next containment zone, take a chance on getting another one, and so on.

  • Each time you return to the refuge, you will return to your original state and lose any temporary upgrades. However, any saved upgrades will now be unlocked. You will now be able to make them permanent and add them to your inventory. That is, if you have the necessary materials and accumulated enough data to purchase or build them.

  • If you are destroyed between two containment zones, you will have to restart from the last save station. If you are destroyed during a containment, you can try to break that zone again without having to replay the course, but it will likely cost you something, depending on the level of that zone.

Secondary exploration zones

  • Along the way, in the exploration zones, you may come across stops, secondary zones. In most secondary zones you cannot use the mini thruster. If you decide to branch off by taking these secondary zones, you will have to continue your journey on foot. You will find your flying bike at the exit of this stop.

  • There are several types of secondary zones. Some can be simple areas to explore without danger, where you can meet interesting bots, or where you can discover and learn new skills. But entering a secondary zone can also be a… less pleasant experience!
