Who is the Supreme Overlord?

No one sees him much, but his influence is everywhere. His Overseers enforce the quotas. His rules shape every part of life. There are at least two statues of him near your house.

The ground water’s no longer safe to drink, and the soil’s gone sour. Luckily, a strange type of mushroom thrives in this environment and has become the only reliable food source. You and the other workers harvest daily from the approved farming area and, in return, you are paid in clean water (and more mushrooms).

Now, a letter has arrived. You’ve been granted the Award of Excellent Labour, and by law, you must accept it in person at the palace. Face-to-face with the Supreme Overlord, you’ll be honoured for your hard work. But it’s a long walk to the palace, and you have no idea what “honour” even means to him.

To make this journey, you’ll engage in turn-based combat with fanatics, Overseers, and other workers just trying to get by. You’ll learn new attacks and collect equipment to make you stronger. Along the way, you may gain knowledge that changes how your story can end.
