Happiness isn’t conditional—it appears through gratitude in daily life. Yet Korea’s 0.7 fertility rate signals deep systemic failure. This visual novel, unlike polished media, reflects brutal beauty and truth. Like the original Grimms’ tales, it reveals harsh Korean reality.

About This Game

The Hitchhiker's Guide to Seoul in the 21st Century

This is a visual novel that unfolds across the emotional landscape of Seoul.

The player follows the fragmented memories of a protagonist living with depression, tracing the forgotten friends and fading corners of the city. Through hundreds of recollections and a single, uninterrupted emotional flow, the story explores how Seoul’s relentless centralization and unchecked greed shattered one life—leading to a tragic end.

With over three hours of playtime and 400+ illustrations, the game offers a narrative experience centered on themes of mental health, memory, and tribute.

Players choose between two starting points—early childhood or middle school. These options shape the journey but do not affect the ending. Upon completing the game, “Reflection Mode” unlocks: allowing players to revisit emotionally charged scenes, each reapproaching memory through a new lens shaped by time.

AI-assisted illustrations were carefully retouched and art-directed to match the emotional tone of the story.

Happiness isn’t a condition. It arrives when we find gratitude in ordinary moments.

But a total fertility rate of 0.7… says something is fundamentally broken.

It’s proof that the environment young people in Korea inherit no longer allows them to imagine happiness.

This visual novel, like the original Grimms’ fairy tales, captures brutal beauty and harsh truth. It’s not a K-pop music video. It reflects the cruelty of Korean reality.

For us, there was no other option but Seoul.

Playstyle: No choices. One ending. One memory. Because some memories have only one way through.

Step into one memory. Witness a story only Seoul could tell.
