'I'm just one person building the game I've always wanted to play. I have the game set up for quick and easy feature implementation such as enemy types and map biomes. Early Access gives me the ability to involve players in the decision making for those developments! '

'The full version of Metamancer we hope to expand the already dynamic combat and character building. I am looking forward to using the already-integrated systems to quickly expand on skills, the world and to add polish.

Metamancer is a Roguelike video game that uses procedural generation for every sprite, item, map and faction making for a unique playing experience each time!

In Metamancer you don't equip armor or weapons, you ARE the weapon. Skills take on different forms as the player progresses. The game is all about combining skills and buffs in creative ways to push into more and more difficult areas.

 The player equips components into a Motherboard that give them skills and buffs. Skills and buffs can be combined in various ways to push the player deeper into the world.

COMBAT:

Your Motherboard is where you get all your skills and powers. Motherboards are color coded to take components you find while playing. Motherboard consist of:

  • GPUs that give you your main skills.

  • CPUs that give massive flat buffs but have complicated shapes.

  • RAM that gives special effects and buffs to skills.

  • PSUs that give you power to run the components.

  • FANs to manage the heat from using your skills.

THE WORLD

There are over 10 Distinct biomes that the player can visit including:

  • Cyber Forest: Nature-tech fusion zones with bio-adaptive creatures.

  • City Ruins: Abandoned urban decay ruled by street gangs.

  • Scrapyard: Industrial waste zones perfect for component scavenging.

  • Industrial Zone: Corporate-controlled factory complexes.

  • Neon District: High-tech commercial centers blazing with holograms.

  • Mutated Swamp: Bio-hazard zones where genetic experiments roam free.

  • Wasteland Mines: Synthetic-controlled resource extraction sites.

  • Data Nexus: Massive data centers filled with towering server stacks and glowing conduit networks.

  • Crashed Orbital: Wreckage of a fallen orbital station.

  • Biotech Lab: Abandoned biotech research facility with growth vats and containment chambers.

Metamancer has four factions that are constantly battling for territory on the world map. The factions are split into two alliance blocks that the player can align themselves with.

As faction territories change, the maps change too. Factions leave a physical mark on the map with strongholds at the centers of their territory. Sometimes you'll see the alliances fighting against each other on world tiles!
