Castle War is a fast-paced unit-based real-time strategy game that combines deck-building, unit summoning, and tactical deployment mechanics. Players will build their own strategic card decks and deploy units dynamically on the battlefield, making real-time decisions and strategic adjustments. Each unit possesses unique skills, attributes, and counter relationships, requiring players to adapt their deployment order and composition based on the ever-changing battlefield conditions to achieve optimal performance.

The game emphasizes battlefield control and resource management. With intense combat pacing and rapidly shifting scenarios, victory often hinges on careful strategy and on-the-fly decision-making. Whether you prefer aggressive frontal assaults, supportive rear-line tactics, or building around key units, Castle War offers a variety of strategic playstyles and thrilling head-to-head experiences.

The current version is primarily for pre-release feature testing and educational development purposes. The demo version only includes a limited selection of cards, and open the PvE gameplay and online PvP battles (online battles are temporarily disabled and will be available after optimization). Alongside the game, we are releasing beginner-friendly video tutorials for Unity and Unreal Engine 5 development, available on both YouTube and Bilibili. Stay tuned!

This game is a solo indie project developed over the course of one year. As the developer is also a full-time student, some features are still being polished, and certain algorithm optimizations are in progress. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.

Finally, let’s talk about the tech behind the game—all of which will be covered in the accompanying tutorial series! The multiplayer system uses a lockstep-based frame synchronization model inspired by Warcraft III. The pathfinding system utilizes the A* algorithm, while world collision is handled via a spatial hash bucket system. Unit behavior and abilities are driven by a Behavior Tree system and an order-command architecture.
