What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ashen Destiny is a passion project built by a solo developer, and Early Access is the perfect way to involve the community in shaping its future. The core gameplay is already in place: randomized provinces, turn-based battles, deep general management, and full-scale invasions with thousands of troops.

By releasing in Early Access, I can gather feedback, fix balance issues, System behavior, UI enhancements, and late-game content — all with the help of the players who love strategy as much as I do.

Your input matters, and Early Access ensures that Ashen Destiny evolves into the best game it can be!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I’m currently aiming for around 6 to 9 months in Early Access, though this may change depending on feedback and development progress. My goal is to work closely with the community to track down bugs and improve game balance. If major issues are resolved and the game feels ready, I’ll look at transitioning Ashen Destiny to full release — but no timeline or outcome is guaranteed.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I am continuing to develop Ashen Destiny and exploring ideas for future content. While nothing is guaranteed, the following features are currently being considered and may be implemented later, depending on feasibility and community feedback. These are not promises, but possibilities we are excited to explore:

Diplomacy – We’re looking into the potential for alliance-building, negotiations with other warlords, and the possibility of joint invasions.

Seasonal Visuals – Visual changes between spring, summer, fall, and winter are being considered to help bring more atmosphere to the campaign map.

Devotion System – A more developed system might be explored to impact province stability and add more depth to events such as natural disasters.

As development continues, we’ll be listening closely to player feedback to help guide what features are prioritized or adjusted.

Natural Disasters – Random events like floods or droughts that impact your strategy and resource management.

Tutorial System – A proper in-game tutorial to guide new players through the core mechanics and strategic options.

Possible Full Controller Support – To make Ashen Destiny more accessible for players across different platforms, if there is a high demand.

These potential additions — along with ongoing bug fixes, AI adjustments, and UI improvements — are ideas we're exploring as we continue development. Nothing is final, and any future changes will depend on time, resources, and community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Ashen Destiny already features a fully playable and stable core game loop. Players can invade enemy provinces, conquer and defend their own territories, and expand their empire across the map. The systems for acquiring and managing generals are in place, allowing players to assign unit types and build custom armies within each province.

Resource management is a key pillar of the gameplay. Players can improve individual provinces, move generals and supplies between controlled regions, and strategically allocate resources to strengthen their position. A working Trade system is available through a traveling merchant, where players can purchase supplies or sell valuable items they've discovered through mining operations.

Additionally, players have the option to delegate province control to AI, reducing micromanagement and letting them focus on larger-scale strategies.

Ashen Destiny is fully playable and already offers hours of strategic depth and replayability.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Ashen Destiny will launch in Early Access at a slightly lower price to reflect that the game is still evolving and in development. As new systems are possibly added, the price will gradually increase to reflect the added value. Players who join early will get access to all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm building Ashen Destiny as a solo developer, and I know that the best strategy games thrive on feedback, balance discussions, and strong communities. I’ve set up a dedicated Discord server where I’ll be actively listening to players, discussing ideas, and answering questions personally.

I’m hoping to connect with a few passionate players who love this genre as much as I do — people who want to ask questions, suggest features, and eventually help shape the future of the game.

As the community grows, I’d love to empower some of those early fans to become community moderators and trusted voices, so that Ashen Destiny can evolve not just from my vision, but with real input from the people playing it.”

About This Game

Warlords rise. Empires fall. Your destiny is forged in the fires of conquest.

Ashen Destiny is a turn-based strategy epic set in a war-torn land inspired by the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series — a love letter, if you will. Conquer randomized provinces, recruit powerful generals with random stats, and command armies of up to 6,000 soldiers in massive tactical battles.

No two campaigns are ever the same!

🏹 Features:

  • Massive Army Control – Command up to 20 generals at once on beautiful battlefields, each with their own randomly generated stats and your chosen unit types.

  • Randomized World Maps with Different Sizes – Every campaign unfolds across a procedurally generated world filled with unpredictable opportunities and threats.

  • Tactical 3D Battles – Engage in turn-based combat on a grid-based 3D battlefield. Use terrain, troop composition, and positioning to outmaneuver the enemy.

  • Deep Province Management – Control resources like Soldiers, Crops, Food, Horses, Bows, and Arms. Train troops, reward generals, search for hidden talent, and expand your war machine with extra help from mining, trade, and a savvy traveling merchant.

  • Conquest Through Strategy – Every decision matters. Strike with brute force, or outwit rivals through manipulation, diplomacy — or assassination.

Whether you conquer through loyalty or fear, battle or diplomacy, your legacy will be written in blood and ash.

Your warlords await. Your rivals are watching. It’s time to shape your Ashen Destiny.
