What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This project is fundamentally built around two major checkpoints. The first is the single-player mode, which includes the main gameplay and mechanics. The second is the co-op mode, where you can play together with your friends. The game has now reached the first checkpoint. Before moving on to the second phase, I would like to gather your feedback on the gameplay and mechanics, and redesign the game accordingly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is planned to remain in early access for approximately one year. However, there may be minor deviations during this period based on your feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'm planning to add a co-op mode to the game in the full version. I want you to experience this exciting journey together with your friends. I'm planning to create larger and more diverse maps, along with NPC villages and cities where you can engage in diplomacy and trade.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the features mentioned in the 'About the Game' section — and even more — are already available in the current early access version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'm planning to increase the game's price when it transitions to the full version. However, there will be no price changes during the early access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During this process, we will stay in close contact with the community, primarily through the Steam forums. Please feel free to share any ideas you have, without worrying whether they seem reasonable or not. Every idea is incredibly valuable for the development of this game.”

About This Game

In Bastion of Valor, you begin your adventure as a common villager with nothing. You must gather resources and craft the tools needed for your initial survival. When you think you've found a suitable spot for your village in the forest, build the town square, and you'll attract the attention of everyone, friends and enemies. As days pass, you'll gain influence, and villagers who looking to join your adventure will come to you.

It's entirely up to your strategy to decide which jobs to assign your villagers, but remember that keeping them happy should be your primary priority as a good leader. Unhappy villagers might abandon you and negatively impact your village's influence. So what makes your villagers happy?

  • You shouldn't let your villagers starve. No one fights for someone else when their stomach is constantly growling.

  • You need to assign jobs to your villagers that match their stats. If you ask a weak villager to chop wood or mine, they'll be unhappy.

  • You must provide your villagers with a place to sleep so they'll join you. However, an empty house won't make anyone wake up happy for a new day. You need to craft and place furnitures in your villagers' homes.

  • Finally, believing they'll survive an incoming raid will make your villagers happy. For this, you should craft armor and give it to them.

As your village develops, it'll start to become a city. You'll be able to build massive stone walls and place defensive weapons on them. You'll need this because armies, not just bandits, will begin to attack your city.

This game was created by a single developer after long efforts. Your support and feedback are of great importance to me personally. I hope you have fun.
