What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Scavenger Project is developed by one person with help of a small but passionate team. Due to our limited resources, development takes more time compared to larger studios. We've chosen to build a solid foundation first and gradually expand upon it with thoughtful updates.

Early Access provides us with an opportunity to share this foundation with players, gather valuable feedback, and shape the game's evolution with community input. Your experiences, suggestions, and observations will help guide future development.

Our goal is to work closely with the community to improve and deepen the experience together, step by step.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We do not plan to keep the game in Early Access for too long. Based on our current roadmap, we estimate that the game will remain in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months.

However, the exact duration depends on how far we take the game's content and features. We aim to transition to a full release when the core systems are polished and the game reaches the level of depth and quality we envision. We prefer a flexible and quality-driven timeline over setting a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim to expand upon the foundation set in Early Access by potentially adding more content, increasing gameplay variety, continuing the story, and deepening the overall experience.

We are exploring the possibility of adding features such as new missions, branching storylines, more diverse environments, random encounters, and character progression enhancements based on development feasibility and player feedback.

What players experience during and between missions in Early Access may evolve over time, depending on how the project progresses and the community’s input.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At launch, the Early Access version is expected to offer a few hours of gameplay, depending on player choices and exploration style.

It currently includes the core gameplay loop: base setup, mission planning, exploration, anomaly recovery, light narrative progression, and gear progression.

Our goal is to provide a well-rounded and satisfying experience from day one not just a demo, but a meaningful first step into the game's world. While it may not represent the final scope of the game, the Early Access version is designed to be enjoyable and replayable in its current state.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game affordable and accessible during Early Access to encourage more players to join us early.
There may be a slight price increase after the full release to reflect the added content and improvements, but no final decision has been made yet.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The core purpose of Early Access is to work closely with our community.

We plan to use player feedback to:
– Fix bugs more efficiently
– Improve gameplay systems and mission structures
– Refine narrative progression and world-building
– Explore new ideas based on community suggestions

We will stay in active communication through our Steam Community hub, Discord server, and social media.
Players can expect regular updates, dev logs, and occasional surveys to share their opinions and help guide future development.”

About This Game

👉 This is just the beginning. We have a long road ahead and exciting promises to deliver add Scavenger Project to your Steam Wishlist and join us early.

SCP: Scavenger Project

A 6-12 player asymmetric co-op horror game set in the SCP universe.

Locate. Secure. Survive.

Something is wrong with one of us.

Your Scavenger team was sent to an abandoned Foundation site for a routine job. It should have been simple. But the transport crashed. You woke up in the dark. Bleeding, cut off from the outside, radios dead.

And one of you didn't wake up just injured. One of you woke up infected.

A weaponized variant of SCP-939 was active in the facility. Now one of you is carrying it. They know it. And all they can do is hide it from the rest of you until the transformation is complete.

The Host stays silent.

This is not a "find the traitor" game. The infected player isn't acting innocent. They are fighting their own body. Suppressing the tremors, the sounds, the reaction to light, the growing hunger. Over time they transform into SCP-939's Human Form, and everything they have been hiding starts to surface.

Everyone else lives with a single question: is the person next to me still human?

The outside is already gone.

Coordinated attacks hit the SCP Foundation. Containment sites collapsed, personnel were lost, anomalies escaped. What got loose swallowed cities and bent reality. Most of North America lies in ruins.

The Scavenger Protocol

The Foundation couldn't respond to every anomaly. So the Scavenger Protocol was activated: a last chance for personnel considered useless in the field. Former office workers, warehouse staff, low-ranking guards.

The protocol is simple. You are given amnestics, part of your memory is wiped, and you are assigned to a region. You work local: find anomalies, contain them, deliver them to the Foundation. Over time these teams formed their own local groups, even their own local administrations. In most regions, the Foundation is now just an address where deliveries are made.

You are one of them. The world doesn't need you to come back. It only needs the anomaly delivered.

There is no way out.

The only way out of the facility is to complete your objectives. And you have to be fast, because the Foundation has decided to seal the leak.

GOC (Global Occult Coalition) strike teams enter the facility in the final phase. Not for rescue. For cleanup. Infected, survivor, dead; it makes no difference. Everything left inside will be destroyed.

Surviving means getting out before they do.

No two nights are the same.

  • Procedural facilities: corridors, rooms and objectives are regenerated every run. There is no map to memorize.

  • Autonomous anomalies: AI-controlled SCP entities roam the facility, each with its own behavior and its own way of hunting.

  • Dynamic events: containment breaches, blackouts, reality distortions, airborne contamination and sudden purge protocols. You never know the timing.

  • Hostile factions: the Chaos Insurgency raids sites to seize anomalies, Raider groups loot anything of value.

This is only the first infection.

All of this takes place in Silent Host, the launch mode of Scavenger Project. The game will keep growing after release:

  • More infection variants and transformations

  • More facilities and regions

  • New threats and factions

  • Scavenger Operations: a 1-5 player story mode set in the same universe. Take on missions with your team, capture anomalies and deliver them to the Foundation. Base management, equipment upgrades, character progression and moral choices that permanently shape the story. Coming later as a free update.

"Survival is not a matter of luck. It's a matter of preparation."
