What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Scavenger Project is developed by a small but passionate team. Due to our limited resources, development takes more time compared to larger studios. We've chosen to build a solid foundation first and gradually expand upon it with thoughtful updates.

Early Access provides us with an opportunity to share this foundation with players, gather valuable feedback, and shape the game's evolution with community input. Your experiences, suggestions, and observations will help guide future development.

Our goal is to work closely with the community to improve and deepen the experience together, step by step.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We do not plan to keep the game in Early Access for too long. Based on our current roadmap, we estimate that the game will remain in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months.

However, the exact duration depends on how far we take the game's content and features. We aim to transition to a full release when the core systems are polished and the game reaches the level of depth and quality we envision. We prefer a flexible and quality-driven timeline over setting a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim to expand upon the foundation set in Early Access by potentially adding more content, increasing gameplay variety, continuing the story, and deepening the overall experience.

We are exploring the possibility of adding features such as new missions, branching storylines, more diverse environments, random encounters, and character progression enhancements based on development feasibility and player feedback.

What players experience during and between missions in Early Access may evolve over time, depending on how the project progresses and the community’s input.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At launch, the Early Access version is expected to offer a few hours of gameplay, depending on player choices and exploration style.

It currently includes the core gameplay loop: base setup, mission planning, exploration, anomaly recovery, light narrative progression, and gear progression.

Our goal is to provide a well-rounded and satisfying experience from day one not just a demo, but a meaningful first step into the game's world. While it may not represent the final scope of the game, the Early Access version is designed to be enjoyable and replayable in its current state.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game affordable and accessible during Early Access to encourage more players to join us early.
There may be a slight price increase after the full release to reflect the added content and improvements, but no final decision has been made yet.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The core purpose of Early Access is to work closely with our community.

We plan to use player feedback to:
– Fix bugs more efficiently
– Improve gameplay systems and mission structures
– Refine narrative progression and world-building
– Explore new ideas based on community suggestions

We will stay in active communication through our Steam Community hub, Discord server, and social media.
Players can expect regular updates, dev logs, and occasional surveys to share their opinions and help guide future development.”

Scavenger Project

Scavenger Project is a 1–5 player, co-op focused, tactical exploration and mission-based game set in the SCP universe.
Players accept missions issued by the SCP Foundation, enter abandoned zones, locate dangerous anomalies, attempt to secure them, and struggle to survive.

Locate. Secure. Survive.

Game Modes

Scavenger Operations

The main game mode.
Features 1–5 player co-op missions, base preparation, equipment management, looting, character progression, narrative progression, and ethical choices.

Silent Host

A 1–12 player PvP/PvE focused secondary game mode.
More details coming soon.

Alternate Apocalypse Scenario

The game takes place in an alternate apocalyptic scenario within the SCP universe.
As the world descends into chaos and humanity fights for survival, the SCP Foundation mobilizes all remaining resources to contain escaped anomalies. However, manpower and time are limited.

As a result, the Foundation activates a classified initiative known as “Scavenger Project.”
Former office workers, warehouse staff, and security personnel are deployed into the field.

Objective: Locate escaped anomalies, contain them, and survive.

The Great Collapse

Following coordinated large-scale attacks against the SCP Foundation, hundreds of containment sites collapse.
Freed anomalies devastate cities, corrupt nature, and trigger reality-warping catastrophes. Much of North America is left in ruins.

Unable to respond to every threat, the Foundation assigns low-priority operations to Scavenger teams.

Survive, and the reward is yours.

Base and Mission Selection

Players have access to a Base.
Here, you can rest, select missions, manage equipment, plan operations, and develop your character.

  • 2–4 randomized missions are available at any given time

  • One mission is always a main story mission, highlighted with a distinct color

  • Missions take place across different regions, structures, and threat levels

Even if missions appear structurally similar, their content, events, and progression paths are procedurally generated each time.

Progression, Loot, and Equipment Management

During missions, players can collect:

  • Anomalous objects

  • Documents

  • Valuable materials

These items can be brought back to the base.

The Foundation provides payment in exchange for delivered materials. These resources can be used to:

  • Purchase new weapons and equipment

  • Acquire special mission items

  • Upgrade character abilities

Players can only carry limited gear when deploying. Vehicles allow two additional backup items for flexibility.

Deep Narrative and Ethical Choices

What begins as simple retrieval missions gradually reveals the secrets hidden by the SCP Foundation.

  • Who are the Scavenger teams really made of?

  • Why are certain anomalies deliberately ignored?

  • What is the true purpose behind these missions?

Through documents, recordings, and character dialogue, players confront the Foundation’s unethical practices.

Some missions require moral decisions that permanently affect the course of the story.

Enemies Are Not Just Anomalies

Mission zones are not limited to SCP entities alone:

  • Chaos Insurgency forces raid areas to seize anomalies

  • Raider groups scavenge locations for valuable loot

  • Other Scavenger teams (NPCs) may be deployed to the same objective

Every mission includes dynamic encounters, unexpected events, and high-risk decision-making.

High Replayability

  • Procedurally generated mission structures

  • Rare zones and locked locations

  • Interconnected mission progression

Some areas require special items to access.
A document or piece of equipment found by chance can completely alter another mission.
Certain missions unlock new chains and alternative routes.
