Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to build HEAT DEATH with the community. Early Access gives players the opportunity to help shape the game while it's still flexible, especially when it comes to balance, features, and overall gameplay loop. The foundation is already strong, but your feedback will be essential in guiding its direction and ensuring it lives up to its full potential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect this game to be in Early Access for six to twelve months.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to focus on the core gameplay loop and then add more features. For the final version, we aim to have all phases implemented and more polished content, guided by community feedback. Our current development roadmap includes the following phases:
- Basic combat (completed)
- Strategic map
- Power and heat systems
- Stations and trade
- Extra damage mechanics
- Death and taxes
- Factions and AI”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the game features the following:
- Orbital navigation around the Earth-Luna system (Flip and burns, orbits, intercepts)
- Docking with shuttles and stations
- 3D Tactical Map movement
- Basic combat (PDCs, missiles, lasers)”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the current price is lowered in order to reflect its early state, which should also act as a discount for those who would like to support the project this early. The finished game's price may be higher based on community feedback.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be sharing regular devlogs, patch notes, and community polls through YouTube and Steam updates. I read as many comments and messages as I can, and many of the game's current features were directly shaped by community feedback. Players will be able to suggest ideas, report bugs, and help prioritize new features. I'll be listening every step of the way.”

About This Game

HEAT DEATH: Earth is a realism-focused tactical space RPG that combines fleet management, orbital maneuvering, station-building, and emergent faction warfare in the Earth-Luna system and its lagrange points.

OVERVIEW

Your old life was never perfect. There was either too much or not enough. But in orbit, you can make a name for yourself. You are now an orbital deliveryman, mercenary captain, or faction leader—whatever it was you chose to be—scraping by on trade contracts, doing favors, and slowly but surely building an empire that will reach the stars.

From humble beginnings, you’ll rise (or burn) in a world where politics, physics, and invisible lasers collide.

Aside from being a great word to describe the end of the universe, in this game, "Heat Death" takes on a whole new meaning. Careful heat management and efficient use of power-hungry systems are vital to keeping your ship from melting and its crew from baking alive.

Engage in high-stakes battles with flip-and-burn maneuvers, delta-v limits, radiators, and power management. Ships don't have hitpoints; they have modules.

Use the strategic map to plan intercepts, organize convoys, or deploy fleets. Trade, smuggle, invest, gamble, or disrupt rival factions through logistics and force.

Start small with a single ship and a dream. Choose your path: merchant, stationeer, mercenary captain, fleet commander, or something else. Rise through the ranks with diplomacy, subterfuge, and war. Take on major factions such as the Shenzhen Interplanetary Corporation, Cascadia, and the Persian Federation.

Establish stations to serve as your base of operations, inventory, industry, and income. Upgrade defenses, lay down logistics, and carve out a piece of Earth orbit for yourself.

From Earth’s ruined nations to orbital megacorps and ideologue enclaves, every faction has its own goals, strengths, and weaknesses. Form alliances—or shatter them.

Rocket science and orbital maneuvers don't have to be hard! Learn the basics in minutes, then dive deep into orbital tactics, heat sinks, and power distribution.

PROOF-OF-CONCEPT

HEAT DEATH: Earth is a proof-of-concept “lite” version of a much larger game: HEAT DEATH: Sol, which will span the entire solar system and have more core features.

By buying Earth, you're supporting the development of Sol, and helping shape its foundation.

A free demo for Earth is also available. Once Sol releases, Earth will become free-to-play!

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The game includes stylized spaceship combat with explosions and destruction of ships and stations. There are no depictions of blood, gore, or dead bodies. The content is comparable to sci-fi space battles seen in general-audience media. There is no sexual content, drug/alcohol use, or other potentially sensitive themes.
