What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching Attorney Disbarment Adventure in Early Access because this project thrives on lived experience and player feedback. The legal scenarios, systemic pressures, and ethical trade‑offs are grounded in real defender research, but the world is intentionally dynamic—new case branches, courtroom events, and practice-management layers benefit from seeing how players navigate the current systems. Shipping now lets us partner with the community while the mechanics are still malleable: we can observe which triage strategies feel authentic, where the satire lands, and what realism improvements matter most. That ongoing collaboration is essential for building a sharper, more human legal saga instead of guessing in a vacuum.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to increase the scope and amount of content in the near future. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“People are having fun playing it but there are still some paths that are just to easy to win. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“yes, we will increase the price. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Yes, through the community hub.”

About:

After four years navigating the bureaucracy of the legal system first has as a superior court clerk, I transformed my firsthand knowledge into the satirical indie game Attorney Disbarment Adventure, now available on Steam. It's a darkly comedic legal sim where players aim not to uphold the law, but to spectacularly fail within it. The game blends moral ambiguity, Kafkaesque dilemmas, and a branching narrative to challenge the traditional justice-fueled power fantasy.

My creative path began in storytelling and modding, but now I focus on original games that explore real-world systems through interactive fiction and dark humor. I believe games should do more than entertain—they should question authority, dissect ideology, and leave players reflecting long after the credits roll. I build the kinds of worlds that demand ethical curiosity, where "winning" might mean losing your soul, and every playthrough rewrites your sense of right and wrong.

About This Game

This game has been delayed due to an inability to understand what currently counts as a disbarr-able offense? Apparently prosecutors simply doing their job will get them suspended, so we are... rebalancing the game???

Get disbarred on purpose. The only win condition is professional ruin.

A darkly comedic career sabotage simulator set in Ambicity’s overburdened, overreactive, and wildly inconsistent legal system. You are a burned‑out public defender trying to escape by becoming so catastrophically bad that the bar has no choice but to revoke your license. Accidentally adapting = career extended. Success is failure; stability is loss.

Core Loop

1. Take (or auto‑receive) doomed cases.

2. Enter rapid‑fire arcade‑style minigames representing chaotic legal tasks.

3. Intentionally underperform… but not so efficiently that you accidentally clear objectives.

4. Accumulate stress, complaints, sanctions, ethical violations, reputational decay.

5. Trigger a targeted disbarment archetype before resilience systems stabilize you.

Primary Disbarment Vectors

- Incompetence – Chain catastrophic minigame failures across core phases.

- Corruption – Accept and mishandle illicit offers during “opportunity” events.

- Burnout – Let stress spiral to critical thresholds without relief.

- Negligence – Miss deadlines, misfile, ignore escalation notices.

- Ethical Collapse – Stack conflicts, tamper, fabricate, stonewall oversight.

- Existential Breakdown – Let wellness + reputation + client trust crater together.

Representative Minigame Translations (Satirical Abstractions)

- Evidence Search (maze chase) – contaminate or overlook key items.

- Filing & Deadlines (gravity stacker) – bury vital motions under junk.

- Cross‑Examination Clash (timed pattern duel) – press the wrong weakness rhythmically.

- Jury Selection Chaos (probability rig) – engineer reversal‑prone panels.

- Document Redaction Roulette – over/under redact to trigger sanctions.

- Plea Negotiation Drift – steer far from reason until trust implodes.

*Plus additional vignettes expanding the failure surface.*

Systems & Progression

- Dynamic Stress & Stability – Stress heightens volatility; stability resists collapse.

- Reputation vs. Collapse Tension – Performing “too well” slows archetype tracks.

- Event Layer – Evening emails, audits, bribery overtures, client meltdowns.

- Achievement & Tracking – Playtime, plea mishandling, trust spikes, streak inversions.

- Multiple Disbarment Endings – Each archetype grants unique narrative wrap + flavor log.

Strategic Failure (Why Not Just Mash Fail)

| Pressure | Risk If Ignored | Risk If Overused |

|----------|-----------------|------------------|

| Stress | Sluggish collapse pace | Sudden burnout lock‑in (unwanted ending) |

| Corruption | Slower Corrupt track | Early sanction blocking other routes |

| Negligence | Prolonged career | Trivial dismissal (low‑score ending) |

| Ethical | Boring normal practice | Investigation freeze reducing variety |

Optimal sabotage involves shaping which archetype triggers and when—not indiscriminate failure.

Key Features (Current Scope)

- Multiple disbarment archetype endings (flavor‑rich resolutions)

- 10+ (target 16) modular minigame “legalizations” of arcade tropes

- Achievement + internal metrics (sanction density, failure velocity, trust collapse)

- Replay hooks: speedrun timer for fastest professional implosion

- Practice sandbox to master (or degrade) individual minigames

- Adaptive failure commentary reacting to emerging archetype

Planned / Stretch (Non‑Promise Indicators)

- Expanded courtroom encounter variants

- Additional corruption branching chains

- Steam leaderboards for fastest disbarment (by archetype)

Disbarment Archetype Endings (Simplified)

- The Incompetent – Aggregate critical failures across procedural steps.

- The Corrupt – Accept & mishandle tracked illicit offers.

- The Burnout – Sustained max stress without recovery window.

- The Negligent – Threshold of missed deadlines & filings.

- The Unethical – Integrity flags (tamper/fabricate/conflict) past tolerance.

- The Tragic – Late sincere recovery attempt collapsing all tracks.

Tone & Content Notice

Satire of systemic inefficiency, burnout culture, procedural absurdity—not individual real professionals. References workplace stress & institutional failure. No legal advice. Do not imitate.

Fiction Disclaimer

All names, scenarios, outcomes are fictional. Any resemblance (licensed, suspended, or disbarred) is coincidental.

“In Ambicity, the only sustainable defense strategy is self‑destruction.”
