What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching Attorney Disbarment Adventure in Early Access because this project thrives on lived experience and player feedback. The legal scenarios, systemic pressures, and ethical trade‑offs are grounded in real defender research, but the world is intentionally dynamic—new case branches, courtroom events, and practice-management layers benefit from seeing how players navigate the current systems. Shipping now lets us partner with the community while the mechanics are still malleable: we can observe which triage strategies feel authentic, where the satire lands, and what realism improvements matter most. That ongoing collaboration is essential for building a sharper, more human legal saga instead of guessing in a vacuum.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full release is focused on deepening breadth rather than overhauling fundamentals. We’re currently exploring:

Additional minigame variants (courtroom encounter twists, trust-account reconciliation layers, corruption-side set pieces).
Narrative campaign arcs like the prosecutor ladder, federal defender workload spiral, continuance brinkmanship, and hallway plea gauntlets, each with new decision beats and wrap-ups.
Systems polish—richer triage dashboards, fresh evening events, analytics that surface plea ratios or burnout shields, and codex entries to contextualize the satire.
Community-facing features under evaluation (e.g., archetype leaderboards, opt-in challenge modifiers, localization/VO passes).
These are goals under iteration, not locked promises; scope may shift as we keep tuning the core collapse experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The playable build already includes the sabotage loop: six disbarment archetype endings, 10+ modular minigames, Stress vs. Stability tug-of-war, nightly dynamic events (audits, illicit offers, meltdown emails), adaptive failure commentary, achievement/metrics tracking, practice sandbox, and collapse-speed timers. Everything in the “About This Game” section reflects the live feature set.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“yes, we will increase the price. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Yes, through the community hub.”

About:

After four years navigating the bureaucracy of the legal system first has as a superior court clerk, I transformed my firsthand knowledge into the satirical indie game Attorney Disbarment Adventure, now available on Steam. It's a darkly comedic legal sim where players aim not to uphold the law, but to spectacularly fail within it. The game blends moral ambiguity, Kafkaesque dilemmas, and a branching narrative to challenge the traditional justice-fueled power fantasy.

My creative path began in storytelling and modding, but now I focus on original games that explore real-world systems through interactive fiction and dark humor. I believe games should do more than entertain—they should question authority, dissect ideology, and leave players reflecting long after the credits roll. I build the kinds of worlds that demand ethical curiosity, where "winning" might mean losing your soul, and every playthrough rewrites your sense of right and wrong.

About This Game

Burn your law career on purpose in Ambicity, an overstressed legal ecosystem where “success” just prolongs your misery. As a scorched-out public defender, you juggle frantic legal minigames, contradictory ethics boards, and resilience systems that keep trying to rehabilitate you. Collapse six disbarment archetypes—Incompetent, Corrupt, Burnout, Negligent, Unethical, Tragic—by failing with precision instead of button-mashing every objective into oblivion.

  • 10+ arcade-speed “legalization” minigames (Evidence Search maze chaos, Filing/Deadline gravity stacker, Cross-Examination rhythm duel, Jury Selection probability rig, Redaction Roulette, Plea Drift, etc.) that reward artful sabotage.

  • Stress vs. Stability economy that fights to keep you employed; you’ll weaponize sanctions, burnout spikes, and complaint velocity to pierce it.

  • Adaptive event layer: midnight audits, bribery pitches, supervisor panic, client meltdowns, watchdog press emails—all riffing on your collapse trajectory.

  • Multiple disbarment endings with collapse journals, achievement tracking for sanction density/failure velocity, practice sandbox, and “fastest implosion” timers.

This violence is described in the narrative but is not graphically visualized. Crime scenes and murder weapons can and will show blood but never in large amounts.
